A slight miscue for Chan with that triple axel landing, but solid overall.

Anyone know how difficult it is to overcome a 4 point deficit? Is that a nice lead by the Japanese skater or not much of a concern?

not too much since the free skate is twice as long you can get twice as many points. The winning free skate score will be in the 170s

Free skate is worth twice as many points, it's not difficult to overcome except they are both very talented. Patrick Chan's personal best in the free skate is three points higher, so it'll be a tight battle.

There are about four skaters left capable of beating that 90 point mark including two more Japanese skaters.

For anyone who missed the slopestyle event, the Bronze run is worth watching.

EDIT: Whoops, wrong one. Fixed.

That's bronze? What the hell do you have to do to win gold or silver??

Haha, well regardless of judging, that was the best run, the judges just got it wrong. But the gold and silver runs were pretty damned good too:

Note, that's not actually the gold winning run, but it's basically a mirror image of the his first run, which was the gold winning run.
