BTW, and alluding to that earlier Cundari discussion - re-entry waivers no longer exists, so the team can bring a player up to the NHL without risk. It's the going back down part that could be problematic when Giordano returns.

I think cundari is a good player to bring up cause he has offensive upside like giordano does and he is built like a tank to make up for his size. He likes to hit and I'm sure he feels like he has something to prove. Don't worry about the waiver wire situation... If he plays well enough in a call up that the flames are worried someone will try to pick him off waivers when gio comes back, that means he's probably earned the right to stay with the big club over someone else like smith, butler, or O'Brian.
This season is suppose to be about improving the team and assessing players so let's do that when the opportunity is there rather than trading from a position of weakness.

Well said. It is a year of rebuild so why Panic ? Just showcase the young guys.

Stempniak talks about injury.
Bob Hartley talks about absence of Giordano and progress of Colborne.

Given that he could've kept his performance up, he'd have a good shot because he is a left handed shot. Sounds weird, but Canada has an abundance of rightys with regards to top d men.
He's a good skater, good first pass, smart... It was a long shot for him to be considered, but with how he was playing it wasn't out of the question

Yep, you don't want to hold out for a better deal only to watch it evaporate as guy catches a rut.
Gotta have a set price for a player, if a team meets that price, pull the trigger.

Flames' Giordano skated by himself without pain today and could be back in action sometime in the next two weeks.

I wonder if they're all travelling with the team because they're doing the Fathers road trip with the team? There's no chance either of them will be playing this weekend.

Fathers (parents?) trip this weekend. Even if they are not playing I believe they still fly with the team.

Wonder if the intense training camp and start of season style of play has anything to do with all these injuries??

Almost every injury has been from blocking shots, so I'd say it's not likely
