Its too bad that the writers didn't make CFL history with Cornish. This is the Canadian Football League here they had a Canadian nominee that was certainly worthy. Hell he broke a 56 year old record by set by a CFL legend.

The last time a Canadian won the MOP was 34 years ago. I think they missed the opportunity.

Congrats to Cornish for winning the MV Canadian which really i hope the votes were not even close. If any writers did not vote for him for that its spiteful.

Cornish deserves the Canadian Award. Owens deserves the MOP. If it was MVP I would have given it to Cornish

Cornish deserved the award but it wasn't a terrible decision. Not surprising though with the Eastern voters you knew it was always going to be tough for Cornish.

Good to see him win the Top Canadian and he should go out and get the biggest prize on Sunday.

Yeah more motivation for Cornish to go out there and prove he should have won MOP.

I hope he has a huge game!

I have a friend in Belgium who is a die hard Stamps fan. He says ESPN America is not showing the Grey Cup in Belgium. Does anyone know where he could stream the Grey Cup on Sunday?

Thanks

Most outstanding player vs most valuable player, can someone explain the difference?? Because all along I've just thought it was the CFL trying to be different and have their own unique name for 'MVP'.

I've already said my piece on giving the league MVP award to a guy who returns kicks. The total all purpose yards record is a total joke in my opinion.

Ummm...the guy led the CFL in receiving yards AND kick return yards....and was top 3 in punt return yards as well.

Pretty exceptional season no matter who you cheer for.

The Sklar Bros (on Jim Rome) are talking about "Stampede" fans bringing horses into Toronto buildings.

Hit 'em again ye men of Calgary
Get on the ball and let's go marching down the field
Well there's a goal in sight
Play on with all your might
'till the victory's won go out and FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

We're all behind you men of Calgary
So when your backs are to the wall you'll never fear
C'mon you red and white
We need a win tonight
Hit 'em again, ye men of Calgary

I think when the Flames fold and we are in a new NHL, our new team should be called the Calgary Stampede.

Couldn't get it done in the GC vs Baltimore in 1995 after getting hurt in the season and playing half the year. Then Flutie of course won back to back in 96 and 97 in Toronto.
That '95 Cup still pisses me off. That should've been Garcia's game. Flutie was nowhere near ready to play.

John Candy: True Double Blue was on again today and it was just awesome, even got a little choked up hearing how fondly the players talked about Candy.

Oh Drew!

Ian Busby@SUNIanBusby

Asked Drew Tate what he's been doing this week not being able to play in #100GC. "I've been partying," he said. Love his honesty #cfl

That's the second time I've watched it and I'm not ashamed to admit that a tear came to my eye. He left us far too early.

Okay -- prediction time

Calgary defence is coming off of a huge game against BC and will need a similar effort against a hot Ricky Ray-led offence. The secondary will need to contain Chad Owens and will again need to avoid the big play, as they did against BC. Will be interesting to see how many risks they take (i.e. blitzing); Juwan Simpson looks like he will return to the lineup so hopefully he can be a force against Kackert and the run game.

When Calgary has the ball, the combination of Cornish running/receiving and Bryant/Price/McDaniel stretching the field vertically gives Glenn a lot of options. Glenn was a difference maker last week (something I never thought I'd say, let alone in the West Final); if Cornish can get going, Glenn just needs to play steady and let the receivers do the work to move the chains and keep Ray off the field.

Special teams will be interesting as well -- Calgary has the best kickers in the league, but Toronto has the MOP on the return game. Just a hunch, but watch out for Larry Taylor to have a big game, and possibly break one. I think he's due.

My fearless prediction: Calgary 24, Toronto 18. Go Stamps Go!
