I don't know what Ultra Hardcore is. Sounds like a noob like me would get schooled badly.

Has anyone PMed you the rules? Ultra Hardcore plays a bit differently than single-player Minecraft.
The major things to keep in mind are:
- You can only regain health (health, not food/energy) by eating a golden apple, or drinking health regen potions. Filling your food bar up to its max won't regen any of your health.
- Once you hit 0 food, you will start taking damage. This is the same as Minecraft in hard mode, but worse, because you can't regen that health by just refilling your food bar.
- Make a golden apple with a regular apple in the center, surrounded by gold bars (not gold nuggets, like regular Minecraft). This is even harder to do.
- Kill, kill, kill! Last man (or woman) standing, wins.
- I believe there is no branch or strip mining (as in, don't mine in straight lines (branches) into the ground; instead, look for caves, and mine in those)). This keeps people moving around and not just spending the whole match mining underground.
- I also believe Rathji raised the level gold is found at. Not sure, he can confirm.

I've got fraps going and have successfully recorded a couple test videos. I just plugged in the headset but fraps isn't recognizing it yet.

Congrats, It is quite the experience when doing your first video and posting it. I am really starting to get a few followers on my Minecraft Let's Play and it is wonderful reading the comments and communicating with them.
I also want to add a new rule that until the end of the first night (we start at 6:00 am game time) there is no pvp. This is just in case the random spawn plugin I hav used puts some of us really close together.
I will be double check that things work right this afternoon, before we start, because i had to redo a bunch of settings last week. I won't be on until right before 7:00, since the wife decided we were having a BBQ today.

Ya I was pretty happy with how easy it came together. I think it's going to make these hardcore games a lot more fun.

So we're starting at 7pm Calgary time/6pm pm Victoria time?
I think we ended up going close to 2.5 hours and I won, yay! I've got 55 gb of video to get processed and uploaded, I'll start the process tomorrow night. Now I need to calm down, that was intense.

I've been playing around with mine and should have it ready tonight. I cut it off at the 30 min mark, and because we started late it's only going to be roughly 15 minutes long.
Should we start a separate season 2 thread, or keep this one going?
edit....I'm uploading to youtube now and it says it's going to take almost 2 hours. Is this normal? The file is 15 min and just over 2 gigs.
