The goal given up by Hirschfeld was atrocious, and took all momentum away from the team. The finishing has been horrible as well. How a striker in the BPL whiffs on a 6 yard shot is beyond me. This team needs Hoilett in the worst way.
Well, lets hope we see significant improvement in the second half.

Wow - the replay caught that lack of sportsmanship damn good. That's just sad!
And as I type...PS for Canada!

The time wasting by St Lucia is insane! Glad to see the second Simpson goal. I think the team was waiting for something like that. Also, have to point out the crowd is great for a match against a weaker nation.

11,000ish, really quite good. And great second half. Would have been nice to get a few more, especially after all of that time wasting by St. Lucia.

St Lucia's keeper kept it from being 7 or 8 to 1. Good win despite the rough first half. Next up Puerto Rico on Tuesday.

I honestly believe my beer league indoor soccer team could give St. Lucia a go for their money. Not a good team, score flatters the Lucians.

If they can run for 90 minutes, San Marino would have it easily.
That was embarrassing for St. Lucia last night. I've never seen so many stretchers. And somehow we only beat them 4-1.

I'd go San marino.
I honestly believe the Dutch would beat St Lucia by 20 plus goals if they played in a game that meant something.

Sportsnet and the Score were there at BMO field and they think they could put the production team together and beat St. Lucia.
Forrest in goal for starters!
Sharman, Jack, Dunlop etc... LOL

Bump.
Canada plays game 2 tonight in Puerto Rico. Game is at 6 pm on Sportsnet One. Here's hoping they have another good result!

Canada up 1-0 after the first half. Iain Hume with the goal. Their play is very methodical and finishing lacking for the most part.

Canada wants to play the Barcelona style keep the ball 75% of the match style.
Except they're slow and not Barcelona!

Can hardly wait for either games back here, or the 2nd and 3rd round, so that the telecasts don't consist of 2 or three Sony handcams filming the action, held by a few of the locals who've indulged in a couple cervezas.

Canada wins 3-0 over Puerto Rico. Another frustrating game to watch, but in the end they get the result they need.
