A couple of weeks ago my credit card worked in the morning but not the afternoon. Called the bank; they told me it gotten deactivated somehow, and reactivated it. Tried to use it for paypal this week, didnt work, called the bank, they told me it was a paypal issue.
Went to use it this morning, get told its expired. Call the bank again, and now the security code on the back of my card doesn't match what they have in file, even though I have the actual card in my hand. It expires at the end of next month. They insist they stent me a new card, which I never received nor activated, and can't answer me why they canceled the old one when it's still valid, without confirming I have received a new one. And of course they can't do anything about it except expedite me another card, sent to the same address they sent the first that I never got, and this somehow fixes the issue for them.

Doesn't the Australian Ute have the same bed length as an F-150? Even though I rarely see people hauling much of anything. You also can't see anyone shorter than a grown adult over the massive grill. A move to small trucks would probably mean Trudeau wouldn't lose his mind for electric.

This presumes he has a mind to lose.

My father just got one of those new GMs I think with the hood that is about 5ft tall. I stood my 5yr old son out front of it and backed him up until my father could see his hair…. We were 12ft in front of the truck.
They are dangerous vehicles.

The truck conversation reminded me of this pic I've seen around a few times recently. Spoiler for size

That sucks, sorry to hear. It happened to a friend of mine a couple years ago too; skids broke into his building's parkade and drilled his tank to steal the gas. Huge mess, huge expense to get a new tank to replace the old one.

The discrepancy isn't quite as bad as the photo would suggest—a Ford F-350 was always quite a bit bigger than a Toyota Tacoma—but certainly the height has become absurd. Bed rails on modern trucks are so absurdly high that the manufacturers designed integrated steps to climb up rather than lower the truck height overall.

And, in my experience...shocking, shocking incompetence.

I honestly don't know his ultimate out of pocket cost, but whether it was a case of not having the requisite comprehensive coverage or a high deductible, he told me he paid >>$1000 to get it fixed.

Idiots who block the box. Misjudging congestion on a green light and getting stuck in an intersection is one thing, but I just experienced two separate idiots blocking entire light cycles after trying to make a right on red over to a congested left lane (to access Memorial EB) blocking myself and others from driving straight through to use the open right lane and access Memorial WB.
Pretty sure it was actually an entire congregation of idiots, as a church letting out is the only thing that explains the congestion there on a Sunday

Oof, ya Sunday driving is a huge gamble. I try to go shopping when Church is in, and be home before it gets out. Any chance we could get some remedial drivers training hymns into the itinerary? "Oh great glory of the left lane!" and so on.

I have comprehensive coverage so I’m going that route. My deductible is $1000 so that’s what I’m out. The quote for a new tank and fuel pump is almost $3000. Add $700 for a rental vehicle and $200 for a tow truck and it’s almost $4000 without cleaning up the fuel mess.
The pita factor is high.

I can live with Youtube ads, but what GMG is that they’re right at the beginning, before you even know if the video is worthwhile viewing or not.

Banks grind my gears. Having to deal with multiple banks for my aunt's estate has really opened my eyes to how terrible the customer service is. After a meeting (one that got postponed by the bank twice over a week) with one bank I was assured that I would receive a phone call the next morning. I never received a call and let a week go by before deciding to get back to them and got this whiny excuse "things have been hectic" and the paperwork was submitted today. Basically if I didn't call back after a week nothing would be done and I'm still not sure anything has been done of yet. Bank 2 meeting with employee we have a 3-way with their estate department where they tell me they would cash in a GIC and move some money into this account, etc. 8 business days later and I see nothing has been done and I call the representative who gets in touch with the estate department that hasn't even looked at the file. I'm not exactly sure how anything happens at a bank unless you are following up on these people regularly as when they say they will do something tomorrow that's code for "whenever we get around to it".

Yeah banks need to step it up. Almost everything is online so it shouldn't take more than 2 minutes to verify a credit card payment. Hell, my bank has new ATMs that count the bills and read the cheques - but it still takes 3 business days to clear a deposit. If you rmachine knows how much I am depositing, why does it take that long?
