I think what I'm looking forward to most is running multiple cities in a region, each specialized differently, so in essence they're like one big city. Going to be interesting to do since your finances, ratings, etc remain independent between them.

While watching some videos, I see people fill in the entire inner area of a road segment with a single click. How do I do this? I'm talking as opposed to dragging the zone tool all along the edges.

Hold Ctrl on your keyboard when you are zoning.

Man roads seem expensive, and dirt roads suck. Though if you watch the traffic you can often just upgrade specific sections to medium streets to get the traffic lights and that helped my traffic a lot. Seeing 3 blocks full of moving vans just sitting there waiting was kind of funny though.

I wonder if they will patch down the price of roads? Seems like a common complaint

ya it was a bit of a shock when i made a medium avenue connecting from the highway, dragged it to the midpoint of my area, and lost $25,000 of my original $50,000. made the initial go of things a bit rough

The comments are 90% bitching about "Always Online" and DRM. The other 10% is map size. Basically, as Nekhara pointed out, these are the people who wanted SimCity4++....

Hahahaha...good lord (review from Metacritic):

"ud106c Mar 5, 2013 0 I am rating this game a zero. I have not played the game, nor will I ever play it. My sole reason for this review is to contribute to the EA Hate Machine."

So I caved and bought the game direct from the Origin store. I'll re-sell my physical copy when it arrives.

NOW I CAN'T FRIGGIN' DOWNLOAD IT BECAUSE ORIGIN IS BEING A SLOW BUGGY PIECE OF GARBAGE.

My download is still at 0%.

Because I haven't bought it because I don't have a PC that can run it, because all my PC money is now going to the CRA

To be fair, the initial download is just the launcher and is only 270 mb. The real downloading happens after you hit play.

I assume by now most people have realized that Metacritic user reviews aren't worth looking at.

People complained the beta was too easy so they made it harder. Now people complain it is too hard. I'm sure we will see some balancing continue.

I've only had about 10 minutes in the game this morning, but I really think the key to this game is slowing down and planning things out. Not expanding just for the sake of expanding because your RCI is telling you to. You need to have systems in place to support future growth. If you're making money, you can save some up to get these systems in place and then when you are ready, expand. Expansion too fast will lead to bankruptcy. You need a solid foundation to start from and that only comes from proper planning and watching how much you are spending. Laying down a $25,000 road isn't going to do you any good as the user above found out.

I'm pretty sure cheats, if they exist, would only be available in single-player Sandbox mode.
