You'll be OK - that describes my gaming situation to a tee with three kids under the age of 7
I find it far easier to play for brief jaunts and save than GTAIV

If anyone figures out the 2nd map for the treasure hunt, let us know! I'll try and figure out where it is now.

i was able to return my original purchase but still use the 15 dollar coupon i got. so i got the game for 45 bucks which makes me (and the wife) happy. additionally, i got another 15 dollar coupon that i could use on another game purchase!
i am about ready to fire this bad boy up!

haha, I found it.
Go to "Del Lobo Rock" which is East of Rio Bravo, on the shore line. Go to the top by the campsite, you'll see the two rocks, follow the path down.
The next one is some house, and I have no idea which one yet.

So why didn't you just buy return that first copy, and buy the second one without using the coupon... and then return it... and buy a third without using a coupon and return it... etc etc...
The you could have used 4 coupons to get the game for free and made your wife even happier!

How did you initially determine where Del Lobo Rock is? I’m trying to suss out the general technique involved in solving these...
...without cheating or using the internet unless needed because the developers get silly.

SO many cool things in this game. I love all of the random encounters.
I was riding over to a stranger but didn't slow my horse down in time and pushed him off the cliff he was standing by. Oops.
I had a major glitch in the mission where you rescue Bonnie. I covered behind a rock wall, and went flying in the air and died when I landed.

It said on the map "Del Lobo Rock" or something, I looked on my REAL map that came with the game, found out where it is, and then I found the camp site and followed the map.
The third one is a house, during a mission with Bonnie, you go to that house and I recognized it. Then the one after was easy too, but I can't go there right now (the area is locked). The 5th map is crazy hard, it is literally three pictures of rocks, with nothing else.

So my buddy swears this is the greatest game in the history of ever. Between reading this thread and him, is it worth a buy? Keep in mind I have no online / DLC status.

Future Shop and Best Buy have a pretty good deal were you trade in two games with a trade in value above $9 and you can get this game. Did that today, and so far the game is pretty cool, I can tell I'm gonna like it.

i don't buy very many games, but i did go get this one. additionally really the only shooter on console i have played since turok/goldeneye for N64 was Uncharted 2 for PS3. but this one looked cool enough for me to get as well. i played for 4 hours last night and didn't even go to 3/4th's of the map. had a fun time even though i was pretty awful at the game. i think online will be fun as well but i am sure i will be bad at that too!

I'm addicted to shooting and skinning animals. I've played like .01% of the game because every time I start going somewhere to advance the story line I come across a herd of something and my OCD ass immediately has to shoot, skin, and salvage them.
I'm not even sure what I can do with all the pelts and other things I've gotten for skinning them, but when I do figure it out, I'll be able to trade a lot of them.
I just wish I could skin people too.

Heh..the real map, never thought to check that, I haven’t even unpacked it.
There are map upgrades you can buy in game too - when you use them out of your kit, they update your master map in game. You’ve probably found that already though, you are quite a bit ahead of me it sounds.

Is it wrong to watch people get mauled by wolves and then loot them?

down the cliff? i approached from the southwest and went into a valley when i tried to go north and then east; i had to turn around and go east towards the spot and then head north. my recollection was that the area was on a bit of a cliff. perhaps i am mistaken though.

i accidentally trampled a dog yesterday and decided to get off my horse and skin it. i think i was able to sell it to the merchant just like anything else. though it did ruin my reputation or whatever. (trampling the dog, not selling it)
