Only was able to catch the last couple minutes of the 2nd period. What's the evaluation for the bubble players?

Kerins looks head and shoulders above everyone else. Kirkland is really struggling IMO — and so is Pospisil.

Could Pospisil start the season as a scratch?

Thanks.

How about the d-men?

No need to comment on the goaltending. I'm getting a vibe from the posts in this thread.

Giving everyone a chance to fail?

Play looks sloppy and inattentive for most. No confidence in the 'tender?

I think Posp gets added to the Anderson trade at this rate.

Rumour was that BUF was horny for him. Maybe they want to make a big mistake and trade someone really good for him and another Flames prospect or two?

I know we won’t because we just signed him, and in any deal that CC makes only the Flames have to be accountable for their part of the deal, or we might be considered bad guys, or whatever.

Do the Flames carry 14 forwards? I think Morton fills the prototypical 4th line role and PKer. Kerins is too good to waive, but where does he play?

Looks like our season will be determined by Wolf. Not much improved offense and potentially weaker defense than last year.

You can’t keep Morton to lose Kerins.

Huska needs to adjust his lines to put people in the right spots, which will change every game because we have so many guys that can play up and down the lineup.

I think Lombo would like to have a setup guy playing with him and Klapka/Pospisil for a change. Backs/Naz/Frost/ can handle PK duty until Rory earns coach’s trust (if Huby can figure it out, so can Rory).

Only watched the 2nd as well
Parekh - doing well, I like his roving around style, so he's noticeable on breakouts, and joining thet rush. The PP goal was the cherry on top.
Kerins - Keeps generating offense. He just looks so confident skating the puck up the ice, and his linemates obviously defer to him. He looks like a top 9 NHLer.
Klapka - Looks a bit sluggish and off position. I thought the 3rd goal against was on him not being able to keep up with his man. He looked much better towards the end of the season.
Pospisil - A couple of penalties, seems frustrated out there, doesn't generate much.
Lomberg - I didn't really notice him this period
Kirkland - I didn't notice him much

Kuznetsov - I mostly didn't notice him, he made a good play joining the rush on the PK
Grushnikov - Meaghan Mikkelson really likes his game so far, and people here were pretty positive. I haven't noticed him much.
Pachal, Hanley, and Bahl are all having a quiet game, which is to be expected.

Cooley - sounds like the 1st period was a bit of a struggle, I thought he was okay in the 2nd. The 1st Duehr goal was definitely on him, the rest he couldn't really do anything about.

Pospisil's games isn't suited for preseason, he'll be fine.

If that’s the case I hope we start selling off vets after thanksgiving. Might as well use this year as a dev year. Backs/Naz/Weegar/Huby are the only old guys we need.

The joy of hockey without commentary - at least we got 10 seconds of it.

Come on Derek, tell us obvious things non stop for the next hour.

Which way are the Flames skating? I can’t follow along! I am lost!

Pospisil hasnt been fine since his 1st year. Folks will argue the intangibles but really hasn't done much. Got gifted a top of top 6 time last year and ends up down on the 4th line most of the season. Not seeing much this preseason that says things are going to be better this year.

Zayne looks plenty strong to me. I’ve heard people say they expect him to be one-dimensional Karlsson type, but I think they might be surprised.
