Garrioch reporting three groups are preparing to submit their bids for the Senators. Interesting, looks like Deadpool is not part of either group.https://ottawasun.com/sports/hockey/.../garrioch-sale

I know Michael Andlauer personally and have done business with him, he's not your average billionaire, he's an outstanding person and would make a great owner to solidify that franchise.
He would probably start digging the hole in LeBreton with a shovel himself to start that arena.

Seems like a no brainer to add on Reynolds to whoever wins the bid.
Free publicity and will help boost fan fare.

Or, maybe one of the groups if they feel like they're falling behind a frontrunner to add him.

So Reynolds gets paid to be an ambassador rather than put money into the team himself.
 Thats a win.

It's good to see that the people interested in buying the team are relatively local (Ontario and Quebec based). The NHL usually gives local buyers first dibs anyway, but you never know if someone local is going to step up or not.

You wonder if it could be similar to the deal Gretzky had in Arizona where he got shares of the team but no risk when it came to losses.

Hate to ask this question but what does a B list actor bring to the team? Even call him an A lister. Drake brings some swagger as a performer to the Raptors, but what is Ryan Reynolds bringing? We know his face but he’s not bringing Hollywood types to Ottawa.

On Jimmy Fallon’s Show, Reynolds said “I will need a rich mommy or rich daddy to help me buy it”.

B list?

I don't care much about celebrities, but Ryan Reynolds is one of the biggest names in Hollywood over the past several years.

His involvement in a soccer team has led to a Disney+ show about a 4th division team in Wales getting huge fan following, and huge social media engagement.

You don't think he will be able to bring attention to an NHL team in Ottawa?

He already has. He's been on late night shows talking about it. Name the last time someone was talking about the NHL on a late show, let alone a team from Ottawa.

I'm not saying Ryan is currently negotiating a clause to remove the eyebrows off their logo as part of the buy in ... but he might be.

The first part I'm not at all familiar with, because I don't follow soccer. When it comes to the Sens I have no idea how it translates into hype or more dollars over time. He went on one talk show talking about it and surely it raised eyebrows, but over time I don't know what he can bring.

Wish we had some new ownership groups preparing a bid to buy the team. God I hate CSEC and our current useless ownership group. Such little vision or passion for any of their teams.

Yup, they don't run their business the way The Familia wants them to, so obviously they don't care at all. Run them out of town.
