Meh game, but the Pacific division leaders all lost today. So it’s just one of those days. San Jose losing definitely helps neutralize the loss.

Disappointment turns into meh after watching the Sharks lose. 3 of 6 and we clinch. I like the odds.

They should cancel the first two rounds for the Pacific...good teams don't lose games so these three should just forfeit

I had everyone who matters pencilled in for wins tonight. Since everyone lost, the end result is the same.
Magic Number for home ice: 0.5 (1 point)
Magic Number for first in the West: 3.5 (7 points)

O offence, where art thou? Flames lose 3-0 to Kings
Jets got beat, Vegas got beat, Sharks got beat, Flames got beat. Good teams lose games, top of the division with 6 games to go. It’s a nice wake up call after winning 6 of the last 7. Rather them lay an egg vs the Kings then vs the Sharks on Sunday!

Today ends up as a win for Calgary. Lose no ground on anyone else who matters. Shrunk everyone's magic number

Just one of those odd random days I suppose. The NHL is a weird and funny league sometimes. Even the Jets lost tonight. All these Western conference leaders taking it in the teeth. Just gonna chalk it up to the hockey gods having some fun tonight.

6 games remaining and we have 4 Row on SJ so that additional .5 may go sooner than later.

On the plus side, it was my 7 year old’s first flames game and he learned quickly to boo #8 in white mercilessly. I am proud of that kid....

Totally agree with you. The Flames thought they would just win without trying since they are first and the Kings are last.... this is the best hockey league in the world. Anyone can beat anyone.
That being said, move on to the next. GFG.

Thanks. Flying home on Wednesday for 5 days, got tickets to both the Stars and Ducks games. Hopefully Friday is a division clinching game.
It'll be my first Flames game at the dome since December of 2014, only seen them on the road in Chicago and Toronto since.
I'm a "fair-weather" fan though right

Also, good job on the saddledome for the booing. The boos were strong for all 60 minutes.

What really bothers me is when he goes through a slump there is no emotion from him. Never goes into the corners never tries to hit or mix it up and has no energy.
That being said it's hard to teach that into someone's game, you either have it or you dont

Absolutely this. He's just an opportunistic finisher and he doesn't have the ability to adapt to gameplanning. Fans are shocked now digging up every excuse in the book. He's hurt. He's sick. He's tired... He's never been some sort of dominant #1 center. I still think he's a #1 center, but a super low b-tiered one. He's in the Johansen and Duchene range of center as opposed to being in the Schiefele, Drai, Seguin, Larkin, Aho one like Flames fans (/homers) think he is.
I just think he's an odd player in general. What's a good comparison for him? Brock Boeser? I'd rather have Boeser tbh. Monahan is big and tall, but soft and disengaged most of the time. He plays center, but isn't a very good skater and can't handle the puck and make plays at high speeds. The only time he 'slow's the game down' is because of his lack of pace and not because of intention. He's really not much of a natural facilitator. Players like Horvat and Dubois have already surpassed him, screw the statsheet. He's just an odd player, especially in the scape of a team with championship aspirations. He was billed up as being some sort of Toews 2-way center during his draft year and the fact that he's a near liability out there is the saddest part.
This team unfortunately isn't going anywhere unless Gaudreau starts going McDavid mode again, or Lindholm morphs into Nic Backstrom 2.0. Or unless Peters shakes that first line up. Monahan looks done.

When we killed of that 5 on 3, had we scored on the chance right after, we probably would have murdered LA.

Man give your agenda a ####ing break, you should change your username to bitch because that’s all you do. You want all those players over Monahan? Then go cheer for them. It’s funny because Monahan will continue to outproduce them. When he inevitably comes around I can’t wait till you just disappear again. You call fans homers but what you really are is a fair-whether fan who can’t support players on his team when they are struggling, but rather further your nauseating agenda against Monahan, even in a season where he will finish close to a PPG pace.
Some of you guys must have forgotten about the previous 15 years. Top of the conference, career highs all around, and there’s still whining. No wonder many players don’t want to play in a Canadian market

Also, I kinda wish it was that easy. I would have been long gone. But I think I'm attached to this franchise for life, i'm in too deep at this point. Plus I love most of this roster, and Sean. I just don't think he's really that special at all. Should have been Bennett. He was the chosen one. He was supposed to be a Johnny x Chucky hybrid.

Defeatist loser mentality. But if you wanna celebrate mediocrity, that's not my place to judge.

All you have are stylistic complaints. You don’t like the way he produces. Your analysis is quite lame, totally bizarre and bordering on obsessive.
Just really uninteresting.
