Not enough credit being given to the Canucks here.
Very well coached and out worked the Flames all night. They have legit top line players, too.

Johnny dominated the first half of the game and Lindholm was noticeable but Monahan had the quietest 25 minutes you will ever see from a forward.

While true, saying they’ve picked up points in 3 of their last 4 games is also true.

Trying to be positive: The Flames are now halfway to 100 points less than halfway through the season. Nice!

They won because of a waved off goal and blatant penalty being ignored in OT. #### the Canucks.

And only two other forwards played more than 15 mins,Backlund and Tkachuk. So the top 3 were out there more than 10 minutes more than a full second line.

Yeah but when you aren't winning games you are slumping. The team has only played a couple of good games in the past few weeks.

I understand your point and yes, I would like to see more secondary scoring from Backlund, Bennett, Neal, Czarnik, and Ryan; however, it's odd that you bring up the problem of secondary scoring for this game when Jankowski and Hamonic scored. Secondary scoring did not lose this game specifically.

Because the next best is Frolik (7), who has barely played. If the flames continue to have only 4 guys who can score goals, then we will keep losing these games when they have quiet nights.
Too bad we don’t have anyone else who resembles a regular scoring threat and can take the pressure off by winning a game or two.

They didn't outwork the flames.
You're right though that they deserve credit. They played a great defensive game, and really neutralized a lot of the flames best efforts by getting sticks in the lane.
The flames out-battled the Canucks for 50/60 minutes in regulation though.

Both against two of the top teams in the league and the one they lost was in a skills competition.

Same way i feel about him on the PP....just not a good enough option.
People complain about Ryan but he knows his role...Bennett just....ugh.
Give Jankowski that ice.

Agreed. They remind me of the '15 Flames.
They have their Gaudreau and Monahan with Boeser and Petterson. Their future looks bright.

Backlund and Tkachuk need to be better.
I actually don’t think Backlund can generate offence at an acceptable level during 5v5 play for a 2nd line centre and the Flames should look to improve that “spot” on the roster. That’s not to dismiss Backlund’s overall game, as we all know he’s solid in a shutdown role.
...Brayden Schenn?
