Thank God Big Tuna was banned. He would have been insufferable today.

Great day for your team and you're on the forum of a team and fanbase you've admitted you don't like hitting refresh like a robot.

Seems like a productive use of your time.

I'm looking forward to the Flames making a big splash in the next few years so I can sign up to a Ottawa Senators board to incessantly waste my own time.

People are right that they are gonna have some real tough decisions to make in the future with the cap, and that’s exactly where you want your team to be. This is a huge win for Toronto. Wish one day to see the flames get a deal like this with a true superstar.

Teams with lots of good players will always be in cap hell, it's the nature of having a salary cap.

It's how they manage that cap hell that will determine their continued level of success.

Teams that have won the SC over the last 10 or so years have had cap issues but have maneuvered their way around them.

Good choice buy JT, it is the best fit for him and the team will win a Stanley Cup with JT, he will play a mid to late career Yzerman like role. San Jose would have been a bad choice as they would have had a very short window to win. At least he will not have to bounce from team to team like Hossa.

I am definitely not a Leaf fan but this is the reality. We could see an All Canadian Stanley Cup in the next few years.

I have no problem with opposing fans posting here. I have had zero issues with savemedrzaius at all. He's never gone into threads trolling the Flames.

Guaranteed you'd be posting how great it would be if JT signed with the Jets correct?

Its what makes CP a great place to post.

Now we just need McDavid to T.O so we can never have to watch TSN again!

Good for the Leafs, heck of a team for a year or two. Resigning young guys becomes an issue but at least it is a nice one to have.

Did he really leave money on the table? Was he going to get more than McDavid?

July 1st and almost noon your time. Don't think it's out of realm to be that drunk already.

Good point, it's not like it's a Loui Eriksson type deal.

Pretty well. If there was even a remote possibility then of course we should. Players like Matthews don’t get moved for a reason.

Am not a Jets fan. This has been discussed at length. There were no Jets when I picked this username in jest. But by all means carry on. I'm sure there are Leafs parties going on on unrelated forums all over.

Good on the Leafs going out and getting one of the very best forwards in the league. Tavares is worth every penny and going back home he is going to be a huge lift to the Leafs.
Monster quality talent at Center with Mathews and Tavares.
Serious contender for a SC.

They probably now have to move one of Marner or Nylander, right? Or do you just get rid of Kadri and have Marleau do the LTIR thing next year rather than retiring?

I guess Dubas has a lot of options, but he should really use one or two of them to fix his blue line. He desperately needs a reliable RD.
