Thanks for this. We all knew it was possible but again, thanks for putting it in writing
Edit: Look at that, Avs give up another EN goal. EE is off the hook... or not.

And now Colorado is just letting the lottery balls pad their stats.

They are on pace to be one of the all time worst NHL teams so nobody should be surprised they couldn't hold on to a 2 goal lead against anyone. That organization needs to fire everyone right down to the equipment managers.

That math doesn't work. They scored 4 on this game alone...

Serious question- when have the Oilers as a franchise ever been a "good" team when they didn't have generational/hall-of-fame player in their lineup (Gretzky, Messier, Pronger, McDavid).
To call them the Penguins-west would be an understatement.

Oilers almost fumbled a gimme, they're far from impressive right now (though yes, the Flames are faring not much better..).
Their play against a competent Ducks team confirms that. Sweeping up the leftovers from teams that have nothing left to play for will likely get them into the top three but that could be a death wish with the Ducks likely to be the matchup. Tougher, stronger and most importantly, deeper.

Honestly I think it's not bad that the Flames are matching up against tough teams and potential playoff opponents the rest of the way. At least they'll have a really good sense of what they're up against and won't be lulled into a false sense of security or expectation going into playoffs.
