I just dont see it. The Oilers tanked once for sure (Hall), maybe twice. But the rest has been pure incompetence. And they won the lottery from behind twice as well. The NHL has messed up the lottery to the same extent or more than the Oilers. It's their rules.
And as far as being incompetent goes, the owners can run the team however they want. Does it look bad on the league at a certain point? Sure. But the league can do sweet f all about it. There's always been bad owners, in all sports. It's a fact of the game.
Yeah Bettman is steamed. Yeah other owners are steamed. But to interfere? Ehhhh... I just don't see it. What grounds? And what good would a talk do anyway? With the way Katz has been running things and his other dealings do you think he'd be all 'yeah Gary, those are good points.'?
