If something like that happened to the any Flames player, especially Johnny, I would hope that Trevor Gillies would be making his NHL playoff debut and maybe see if we still have the NHL rights to Westgarth.

Stone said after the game that Subban was targeting him at every faceoff. Whether it was an attempt to intimidate or hurt Stone is unknown. Whether it was Subban's idea or a coaching direction is also unknown. Bush league either way - the Bobby Clarke School of Injuring Best Players.
What does he mean by targetting? Players jab at each other at the faceoff (unless they're the centre).
The slash was bad and I can see both sides of the debate about suspensions. I think accusations of embellishment are really incorrect. But the comment by Stone is going to strike people as whiny.
What kills me about Subban is how he throws his hands in the air in disbelief after he does something stupid and gets caught. Sadly, doing that last night seemed to get him out of a high sticking penalty.

Why we have Ferland, and not only can he play the game, but he's one of the rare ones with a genuine ability to do one punch knockouts.
You send him out if someone goes after Johnny and he murders a highly valued player on the Canucks side. And when he skates to the penalty box, a horrified child cries "Michael what did you do?" And he looks back with a sneer and growls "My job"

It was a dumb play by Subban. I don't think the intent was to injure, but it doesn't really matter. You can't be swinging your stick like that.
Subban and the other Habs stars had better hope they don't get a big lead on Ottawa in a game in the series because if they do I can see Ottawa seeking some retribution.

Late to the party but I read a couple posts stating that his wrist would be protected by the glove. Anyone who has played the game knows that depending on the angle of your hands & positioning of your stick, your entire wrist can be exposed.
Sure, he should have had those wrist guards on but it doesnt change the fact it was a filthy move that IMO deserved a game suspension regardless of injury or not.
That act does not get anymore obvious or intentional. Choke up on your stick, raise it much higher than it needs to go and come down on the guys arm/wrist. Big difference from a 1 handed whack at a guys leg or short point blank cross check in the back in front of the net.
No suspension really opens a can of worms for the NHL. I know this is a gutless and unlikely situation but what is to stop the 4th line from each taking a solid swipe at each member of the habs first line. Face 3 major penalties, be down 0-2 in the series and then move on as the other team is missing their top players.

What PK Subban did was stupid. He probably did not have intention of injuring Mark Stone but I still think he deserves a suspension. I actually thought it was kind of funny when he was jumping up and down and getting ticked off after the referee kicked him out. Chopping someone's hand with intention to injure or not is idiotic. I don't care if he hit the guy or miss him. I also don't agree with the head coach Cameron's comment. It is like putting a bounty on Habs players. I guess NHL didn't learn from the Bertuzzi-Moore fiasco. He too should get fined. Do we have to wait for an Ottawa player trying to impress the coach going after a Canadiens player before the NHL do something?
I take back any diving comments I said about Stone. It sounds like an injury that would really hurt but you could attempt to play through it with pain killers and playoff adrenaline.
Also, I don't mind PK not being suspended, a game or two would be fine but the misconduct was probably enough. It didn't seem like a vicious attempt to injure but more like a defenceman trying to intimidate a top player but whacking and hacking him when close to the net.
