Sorry, I'm just thinking about those beautiful overhead shots of the red crowd. Just won't be the same if a large portion of the crowd has black shoulders. Definitely not as bad as the white aways or a suit though.

Haha... this brings me back to spring of 2004. It was basically a 3-month bender as the ritual started in March when it was becoming evident that the Flames were going to challenge for a playoff spot. And in the playoffs, it was a grueling, drinking-every-other-night grind for a guy just starting a new job. But like the Flames, I persevered.

Now that I'm in the Middle East, it'll be a fresh pot of coffee at 5 am. Or will it be keep drinking through the night until gametime?

When I was in Calgary in December, I bought a pack of Flames socks from WalMart. When wearing either of the pairs during games, the Flames have a mere 1 loss, that while visiting the Ducks in Anaheim. I believe it will be important to wear those socks to bed, in case I don't wake up in time!

Biggest game in five years or six years? It was six years ago when we were last in the playoffs. Five years ago we were eliminated from playoff contention in the final week of play but I can't remember any one game being particularly as momentous as this one. I think this is the biggest game in six years.

To answer the question of this thread, I will probably just be getting up in the middle of the night, donning my Gio jersey and waking up the neighbours.

I am so damn excited! The game is on at 11 am here tomorrow morning, but luckily I don't have anything on. The game is going to be on cable in Australia!!!!

Let me clarify, on cable we get very very few regular season games on tv at all. It's probably happened, but I haven't seen any Flames games in the last couple of years. So for once in Australia, I get to watch HD Flames that isn't delayed by 1-2 minutes!!!

(Also, I'm going to be inappropriately drunk at about midday, not sure which result will make me more drunk after)

I think I speak for 99% of all Jets fans, in saying GO FLAMES GO!!!

Flames are my #2 team, and it would be awesome if Calgary can do the Jets a solid, and knock the Kings out of the playoffs. Besides, I'd love to see a Flames-Canucks series again!

So you're likely to be drunk and naked by noon? Sounds like a good day to me.

I love that this thread is full of displaced calgarians. The game's on at 1pm for me, and luckily I have the day off work.

This season has been so amazing. I've watched pretty much every game that I could while I wasn't working and I'm so glad that I get to catch this one!

I remember surreptitiously listening to the 2008 playoff series on my headphones while at work in Sydney. I really got no work done and struggled to keep a straight face during every goal for or against.

2am for me. Friday is going to be a write-off.

I'm seriously nervous about tonight. Of course it's Darryl & Reggie standing between us and the playoffs! That whole "Always Earned" mantra applies more to tonight's game than to any Flames game I've watched since '04.

This is excluding the idea of the jersey being red of course and maybe glazing over the one with the father and his kid with the extra flames t-shirt under the jersey.

Oh, and I personally also don't trash talk the other team or wish for injuries to happen. I always feel this would create bad juju.

Unless red is not part of most of your juju rituals? Or so obvious it need not be mentioned?

Check out the first post after the OPs!

Have a friend who calls himself a Flames fan. Hasn't watched a game all year, never really discusses the Flames, but he calls and texts me about tonight's game. Seriously man? Don't even pretend you're a fan. Really despise bandwagon fans.

Not this again, we go through this every time and just because your definition of fandom doesn't align to others doesn't make them any worse or better than you. Some people are busy, some people have other interests, and that has nothing to do with their ability to be interested and happy for the Flames when they are successful.

Its an entertainment product; professing they're not allowed to be real fans is akin to telling someone they can't be a "real" fan of a particular restaurant because they didn't keep going there over and over when it was doing poorly and putting out terrible food that gave you the runs.
