But no question, TCU can roll with anyone. I'm not convinced at all that Boise State could play week-in-week-out in a major conference and go on the road and have the same amount of success.

Exactly. All the people who moan about some small conference team getting left out conveniently forget about the off years when those teams absolutely blow.
BTW, it's a lot easier to beat top teams when you only have 2-3 challenges on your schedule. There's no week to week grind for a team like TCU, it's an apples to oranges comparison. It's not to say they aren't a good team, they're a great team, but they don't face the same challenges or pressures of the major conference teams.

TCU has won 10 games 4 of the last 5 years. They've won 11 in 3 of the last 4. Where are these years where they absolutely blow?
Again, you can't just assume a BCS team has a tougher schedule just because. TCU has a higher schedule strength than both Texas and Cincy and is only 14 spots behind Florida (48 vs. 34).

I also hope that happens and that the rumor is true and Colorado and Utah got to the Pac 10 and TCU to the Big 12. Maybe this off season the Pac 10 will make an announcement.

Uh, I didn't assume anything. I read your post, I'm well aware of the all so infallible strength of schedule ratings you threw out there, but the fact is when you look at that schedule you don't exactly get chills. BYU and Utah are good teams but I don't think they're that great, the win at Virginia seemed pretty impressive until it became clear that the Cavs suck, the win at Clemson is pretty big so I'll give you that one. I know what the ratings say, I just don't believe that looking at a table of ratings is an intelligent way to assess a schedule.
As for the earlier point, I wasn't referring to particular teams but more to the idea that the WAC, MWC or any other non-BCS conference is at the same level as the top 6. Occasionally there are 2-3 teams in a non-BCS that are pretty solid, but most years (or all years in the case of the WAC) there's one team that can waltz past the entire conference.
I'd love to see TCU play Texas, Bama, or Florida, I think they'd actually have a good chance, but the idea that they deserve to be there over one of those teams (assuming they're undefeated) is ridiculous.

Everyone is jumping all over UF's balls this year about the sched. Whats funny is finally they get a decently weak sched but the last 5 years they have had the toughest sched or one of the toughest in the nation.
I just dont hear the same about Texas and Bama or Iowa, OSU.
Yes bama played VT a 3 loss team and OSU played USC but they have also like to play teams in Ohio other than cincy too.
Florida plays FSU every single year and its not our fault they sucked for the last couple of years.

Montana Moe and I are enjoying Montana vs Montana State today. 9-5 Montana at the half.
Are there more beautiful settings for college football than the stadiums in Bozeman and Missoula? I think not.
And the snow is moving in to the Gallatin Valley!!!!
Go Griz!

I'll post the bracket tomorrow when it comes out, because I know all of you care very much.

What happened to Craig Kilborn's career? He could've been the one!

Dumb, dumb play might give the game to a very weak LSU team.
He is a great player but you cannot let that ball go by in that situation, especially with the hands that he has.

Two terrible plays by LSU takes them out of FG range.
How come every time I watch a SEC game it appears that both teams are trying to lose?

That's some of the worst coaching I've ever seen. Why did they wait 10 seconds to call that last timeout?

People in Baton Rouge have been questioning Les Miles' coaching decisions for the past 3 years or so.
He was fortunate in 2007 that most of his decisions turned out in LSU's favor, eventually leading to a BCS Championship.
The past two years have been a different story and are leading some to think that he may be gone at the end of the season. If LSU is out of the championship picture, it seems like they fold up the tent and don't decide to play again until the bowl game.
A lot of Oklahoma State fans were happy when Miles left for LSU, maybe we're seeing why.
Miles to Michigan anyone?
