Let's bring back wood racquets while we're at it, I'm sure I have a Wilson Jack Kramer Autograph somewhere at the back of my closet.

Vika's on a bit of a roll. She's rounding into great form ahead of Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Good to see her leaving her injuries behind her.

Just came across this stat via ESPN:

Won Indian Wells and Miami Open in same season:
2016 Victoria Azarenka
2005 Kim Clijsters
1996, 1994 Steffi Graf

Thought it was neat. I figured there would be more, but then remembered the Williams sisters didn't take part in Indian Wells for a good decade.

Grass is green, water is wet, sky is blue and Djoker wins another tournament.

The only way to beat Djoker these days is to pull out your voodoo doll and give him an eye infection.

Genie back with Nick Saviano?

It will be deja vu, all over again.

Nick Saviano, who had worked on and off with Bouchard since she was 12 and who was by her side during the best moments of her still-nascent career, will be here with her this week.

A year ago in Charleston, Bouchard suffered an ignominious first-round loss to diminutive American Lauren Davis. It’s a tournament where the Montreal native had enjoyed great success the other two times she participated: from the qualifying to the quarter-finals in 2013 and all the way to the semis in 2014, where she had the match well in hand before running out of gas and losing to eventual champion Andrea Petkovic of Germany.

Whether this is a permanent move, and that Hogstedt is gone after just a few months, is unknown. But it’s certainly a blockbuster piece of news.

Crazy stat. If you took away Djokers grand slam results. 3 wins and a runner up equalling 7200 points.

Hed still be #1

even you sound bored at this point

I don't mind the machine-like dominance as I think any sport is better with an easily identifiable legend in action. I just wish he had a legit rival, cause the drama factor in these tournaments is quickly spiraling towards zero.

Trust me, I'm not.

Federer is the only one who can consistently challenge him. and he's 35.

And Federer can only really challenge him in 3 set matches. Novak is going to have bad days this year (like a 100 UFE match this year for instance...), but even on those days the opponent has to be up to winning the big points to beat him. I honestly don't see Novak losing more than 5 matches this year unless he gets hurt.

Genie wins her first round match in Charleston (6-3, 6-4) over Alexandra Dulgerhu of Romania.

Also of note, Gabriela Dabrowski and partner Darija Jurak beat Madison Keys and Sloane Stephens in doubles (6-2, 6-3)

I wasn't watching the match, but Genie retired in the 3rd set today in Charleston. She lost the first set 6-4, but won the second set 6-1. Score was 0-1 and Genie set to serve when she retired.

Genie has pulled out of the Fed Cup, understandably.

http://www.tenniscanada.com/bouchard...ampaign=buffer

Charlotte Robillard-Millette is taking her spot.
