Ha ha! I remember stories about stuff like that.
TBH, I was just trying to be a bad influence and showing my kids the dumb stuff I used to do as a kid. Introducing them to Charleston chew was up there as well.

My wife lost a filling doing that. She doesn’t eat toffee or similar anymore, which is a win for me.

I lost a molar eating McIntosh toffee at a movie theatre when I was about eight years old maybe. I remember trying to take a bite and felt that weird pop in my mouth pulled out the bar toffee and my tooth was stuck in it.

Did you look at it wide eyed, moth agape, and exclaim "holy molar!"?

Random hockey question: if a player gets a game misconduct, in particular towards the end of the game, in a series ending game would they allow him to come back for the handshakes?

No. That’s the whole point of a game misconduct. You are not allowed to dress up and be on ice.

It is a gear grinder when they only use 2 letters instead of 3 for the month. JU should mean June but why not July? Maybe it's JN and JU? MR and MA...or MA and MY. Or just use three ####ing letters and clear it up.
Same with year... 24 MA 26. Is it good until the 24th of May 2026? Or the 26th of March 2024?

Well once the game is over is the misconduct not over?

It's new because the province recently jacked up their portion and the City didn't want people to just blame them for the increase

It's always been itemized.
I guess people don't like funding education.

Are you confusing the TIPS payment info sheet they give with the property tax assessment?

Yeah, but over the course of a 3 year period the manufacturer can save one whole $200 ink cartridge by only using 2 letters instead of 3.

This is my first year on TIPS and I won’t be checking my mail for a while. How much of an increase should I expect on the second half payments? 10%?

Just looked at my moms TIPS info sheet and it only lists Muncipal and they only pay Municipal amount. Seems like a typo. The amount paid is what it should be.
Regardless. The overall amount owed makes sense based on the assessment.

The property tax bill - tax instalment payment plan is supposed to be itemized.
A property tax reminder notice is not itemized. This can sorta look like the property tax bill itself if you glance fast enough.
I don't think the pre-assessment is itemized either.
This might be the confusion for people glancing at these different pages quickly and thinking they are the same because they are formatted sorta similar. But I also wouldn't be surprised if somehow there are more than one format print outs... because government.
