Totally agreed, I think I've said that three times now.

Could have sworn I was looking at a broken screen at first. The design choice for a Nexus 7 works, on the phone it's a bit iffy. I've grown to appreciate the patterned design on the Nexus 4

I'd go throw up that question in the Android thread, that's where they get into all that jazz. I personally have never done that with any of the three Nexus devices I'd had.

Your best bet is doing some reading on the xda forums. There are toolkits that can even do everything for you. Good luck!

OMG I won $5 credit on the first try
Edit: I just came in here because I bought a Nexus 7 online last night and found this post lol.

Does your Nexus 4 sometimes go into a deep sleep from which it could not be awakened?
Does your Nexus 4 sometimes go into a deep sleep from which it could not be awakened? Mine used to, after updating to Android 4.3. It is a known bug.
It usually happened after a period of idling with no activities. It was a critical bug to me because it meant anytime, anywhere, and randomly, my cellphone would stop working without warning or notification.
I looked into apps that would keep a cellphone from going into sleep/deep sleep but feared those were too invasive and might just run down the battery. Then I installed a simple hourly chime app in the hope that it would remind me at least once every hour to check if my Nexus 4 is dead. Well, it has been 4 days after I have installed the app and my Nexus 4 has not yet once gone into a deep sleep since. Have I stumbled upon a simple way to tame the bug? I certainly hope so because I LOVE my Nexus 4.

The upcoming Google Nexus 5 smartphone is generating a huge amount of interest right now among Android device enthusiasts. It’s expected to be officially announced next month, along with the arrival of Android 4.4 KitKat. Today we want to consider the Nexus 5 and the Ubuntu connection.
Nexus devices are extremely popular and we recently heard hints that the Nexus 5 will be available worldwide on release. This would be a welcome move for those countries that initially missed out on the Nexus 4 and we hope the news turns out to be accurate.

They'll make all 100 phones they'll initially have available worldwide this time?
I hope they made more based on the demand from last time.

For some reason I'm expecting headaches again, not as bad as lat year but still some pain. When it comes to retail Google is light years behind on companies like Apple and Microsoft seem to roll out products. I think Google has one guy doing all the orders for the entire world.

Or they'll just charge more to resolve the demand issue.

I think that google had no idea how popular the Nexus was going to be last time, hence the shortage. I think they're going into this thing eyes wide open and should know how many people are wanting the device like crazy animals wanting steak.
Give us steak google. Lots of it.

I honestly doubt that's the way they go, that's totally opposite of the way Google operates. Personally unless it blows me away, and it doesn't look like it will, I won't be upgrading but a lower price point seems to be the way they will continue. It might come in at a slightly higher cost (similar to this years Nexus 7) but it will still be at that lower point.
