Painter must be trying to squeeze more money out of Purdue. Going from Purdue to Mizzou seems like a step back in the College Basketball hierarchy.

Nope... Gene Keady even came out and said that even if Purdue offered Painter more he would still have to look at Mizzou. Something to the effect of having the backing of the administration, etc... If Keady is saying bad things about the way Purdue does business, I believe it.

A former University of San Diego star player, along with another former player and former assistant coach, were charged with running a sports betting business to affect the outcome of games, federal authorities said Monday.
The indictment names Brandon Johnson, the school's all-time leader in points and assists who finished his college career last year; Thaddeus Brown, an assistant coach at the school in the 2006-07 season; and Brandon Dowdy, who played at USD in the 2006-07 season and at the University of California, Riverside, from 2008 to 2010. Seven other people were also charged.

When Josh Selby announced that he was going to go to the NBA, most thought it was the wrong decision. Great read on why he left. A must read if you have watched HBO's The Wire. CBS College Basketball Podcast also did an show about this article.
Quote:
Fonseca and Currie acknowledge the reality: Selby made mostly good decisions. They made mostly bad ones. He had a support group led by a strong-willed mother. They didn’t. So they’re here with a future as uncertain as the next sale, staring across the street at a mural that paints a sad picture.
A fallen angel lies on a tombstone marked R.I.P., two crosses on either side. Above are small white clouds inscribed with names. Nineteen names are sketched in black ink. Three clouds are empty, waiting for the next tragedy.
