Been a big fan of his for the last couple years. He never gets talked about, but the kid was the backbone of the Saskatoon Blades. The kid is a bull.

Going to the Heat game tonight, wasn't the greatest turnout last night. Only 2103 showed up.
It was a Monday night game, which is notorious in the lower mainland for not getting many fans out. Hopefully there will be more tonight, but I'm not holding my breath.

9g and 9a in 14 games for Patrick Holland. Very impressive for a 7th rounder.

Ortio was the second star in tonight's game against HIFK who are third in the standings. 34 saves and a 3-2 OT win. TPS has 2 wins in 17 games (they've really been that bad) and Ortio has both wins.

Joey Leach has gotten hot for Kootenay at the same time that Max Reinhart has gone cold - he got his 2nd goal of the season on Sunday, and two more assists tonight. Patrick Holland got an assist and a goal in the shootout for the Americans, too.

Heat lose 2-1 to Rochester. Local boy Matt Keith scored for the Heat and Keetley stopped 16 of 18 shots.

Matt Pelech didn't play last night. He's likely out for awhile with a shoulder injury.

Reinhart had a shorthanded gamewinner tonight. Michael Ferland is also back from injury - he has one assist in the game right now.

I was at this game. Keetley made a few very impressive saves. The first goal was a major breakdown in defense. The D-men were playing very sloppily in their own end and ended up turning the puck over for the first goal.
The second goal Keetley let in was more of the players faults for not getting in the shooting lanes.
Keith's goal was beautiful. He went long side on Plante from an almost impossible angle.

In tonight's game, Ortio comes in after 20 minutes as the starter Engren let in 3 goals in 8 shots. TPS ends up losing 8-2. That team is the biggest embarrassment in recent memory. Poorly coached, poorly motivated, poorly conditioned.
Stupid situation. Makes it impossible to evaluate his game at the moment.

Doesn't seem like a very good environment to develop a goaltending prospect.
Bad for his confidence I would imagine.
Does Swift Current still hold his WHL rights? If so, and if they need a goalie, the Flames organization (and Ortio) should consider that option pronto.

I don't think the situation is bad for his confidence. He's been outperforming their starter and he's not the one under pressure. The win against one of the better teams for example was probably very good for his confidence. If anything it has given him a better chance to compete for ice time. It's a good sign that the team has confidence in him.
The team won't be like this forever. TPS cares about developing their young goaltender and he will get games in the second tier league if not with TPS.
He's a long-term project. He should be where he gets the coaching and where he's comfortable. Moving a teenager to the other side of the world to play with other teenagers when he's used to playing in men's teams in his home country has its own risks.

Pelech was skating at practice, but isn't playing physical. His arm is in a sling. Likely his shoulder.
