Since we've had the thing for 4 years now, will the Saddledome scoreboard finally be updated?
And on that note, some more "home-town" aspects would be nice additions... specific songs for teams intros / goal celebrations, etc. They already have the proper horn sound for the arena, couldn't be that painful to add this stuff.
To expand on it, having Saddledome fans wearing red jerseys instead of a mix of white & black ones too... and likewise the whiteout for Pittsburgh, etc.
Looks like the NCAA may be trying to get in the game as well according to Paul Kelly. Would be awesome if they can get both the CHL and NCAA for this year's game.
While I don't mind the board play down low in the corners, I hate when you are rushing up a few feet from the boards only to be pulled into the boards. In real life, that would be a penalty every single time.

Songs would be a pretty major licensing issue and would be pretty costly.

Really? NHL10 I thought did a really good job of how board-play was initiated and executed. So you're saying that on a rush even feet away from the boards you can be pulled into board play without the other player/computer taking an obstruction or hooking penalty? Is this at full-out rush speed, or dipsy-doodling?

It was like that before the updates, but since then I haven't noticed that happening at all.

Also why put effort into authentic songs when the user can just add it themselves? I'd rather EA put their money and time into furthering the features I can't control.

I'm not going to be bothered to (a) look up the songs for every team in the league, or (b) install them.
I agree it's not the first thing I'd like to see changed/added, but it'd be nice.
Same goes for NCAA football and basketball, and within an hour there's a roster file out there to be downloaded.
This is the second time something like this has come up...
The NHL games have only come out on PS3 and Xbox 360 for the last 3 years. People can't just put up roster files for download on Xbox Live or PSN like you could on PC.

Yes, but the NCAA football games have built in roster sharing. You can upload custom rosters, and other people can download them and rate them etc.

You just get them from other users. All of my XBOX NCAA games have complete rosters I've downloaded. It took me all of 3 minutes of searching to find a source.
Why is this? Why won't the NCAA let their players be in video games? I also heard that the NCAA players that came for the Flames prospect camp weren't even allowed to keep their socks due to NCAA rules or something.

It is about regulations regarding professional and amateur classification.
NCAA Basketball and Football games don't have real rosters either, for the same reason.
I believe that the only CHL players in the game will be those that have signed a pro-contract, correct?
Edit: didn't see the above commentary about NCAA games.

I have a goalie friend that was drafted by the Sharks and went on to college after his USHL days and when he was done with training camp he had to return all equipment including socks and under amour back to the team per the NCAA rules.
