I've got a few connections at General Dynamic Canada
|
After your done there, you want to help me find a co-op job there? I applied to General Dynamics but got rejected.

I'm an ex-student with an engineering tech diploma trying to find work in anything engineering related. No luck thus far.

I work for a local Power and Energy company here in Calgary (ENMAX). They have suffered some bad press lately but they are a great company to work for.

Didn't you just get your biology degree (or biology education?) teaching 2 years ago, Dis?
|
Nope...I switched when I got my current job. None of the upper division biology courses are offered at night so there was no way to complete the degree. Nice.

I work for a company that builds broadcast graphics automation systems (essentially systems that create/display/automate graphics for live television). I'm in special projects, so I customize the software for specific customer needs.
Well, I should was in special projects.... I just resigned today to go to a company that builds software for movie special effects, where I'll be working in QA Automation (building programs for testing). I'm excited about it since I am the first person on the team and I will be building the infrastructure from scratch.

This is a huge reason I chose the programming route. Even if there are no jobs I will have the ability to make money (And lots of it) from home. I won't have that crazy pressure to find work right out of school... But I would like to.
