No offense, but I don't know how anyone can live on this planet without having the ambition to see the Ocean.. Just odd to me.

I saw fresh cut wood. Did you mean construction or campfire? Both are great.
One thing I didn't see was the smell of houseplants right after you water them.

I know I started a vasectomy thread a while ago, but my wife's pregnant and little smells make her queasy, so our little Beagle has been relegated to a kennel at night.
I miss her smell.........other than the times she's run away and comes home after rolling in crap and eating garbage.

I'm always fascinated by how well one can remember smells. To this day I can remember how the Mac's store I used to go to when I was a kid smelled, or the music studio where I took lessons - both long torn down.
Nail polish is one I like...I remember as a kid sitting in my parent's bedroom as my mom put on nail polish - which meant they were going out for the evening. The smell takes me back there whenever I smell it.

Apparently smell is more associated with memory than any other sense. I get the same experience with cut grass and my summers working at the Cannons.

Yeah.
My grandparents always drank Taster's Choice instant coffee. Whenever I get a whiff of the little crystals, man, does it take me back. An old girlfriend suggested I buy some............she just didn't understand how that'd just ruin the experience. My grandparents farmed in northern Alberta, and one of my grandfather's tractors ran on propane. Once in a while, when I smell propane unexpectedly, I'm a six-year-old boy and I'm standing back - waaay back - while he refuels his old Massey Ferguson.

Black licorice - one of my Dad's favorites was licorice babies and I love the smell of a fresh bag.
Campfires - too many nights to recount.
Kielbasa - When I was very small, we had a neighbor that my parents used to visit every Friday night for cards or marbles. She was Ukranian and would put out these snack plates laden with Kielbasa (hot from the oven) and cheeses and pickles.
Puppies - which might explain the herd of dogs I own except that only one was bought as a puppy. The rest are rescues.
Old furniture - stuff that has love rubbed into the finish. My first boyfriends Grandparents had an old farmhouse filled with old furniture. You could smell the cozy ooze from the pores of that house.

My father used to wear a particular brand of aftershave, call Tabac Original. At the time you could only get it in Germany. As a kid, whenever mom and dad were going out for the night, dad would walk over and rub some on my cheeks. Loved the smell.
I had always hoped to find some someday so that I could wear it now.
jump ahead 30 years and I find myself in the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. They have a perfume/cologne/aftershave store. Lo and behold, they carry the aftershave. I buy every bottle in the place.
Still reminds me of my old man whenever I wear it.

I said the fresh wood, both are great smelling but I really enjoy the smell after you use a power tool to cut the wood. It just releases that great smell.
Another smell I really enjoy fresh orange zest

Alot of you won't have a clue what I'm talking about, but when I was in grade school there was no such thing as a photo copier. The papers were put through a hand turned machine that put fresh ink on the paper, and as soon as everyone got their papers we all sniffed them. You had to be there I guess.
