I think you should commision and lead a study since you seem to be the resident expert.. You could also do a separate study on penis size vs. vehicle size, you seem to know alot about that..

That's why I love Vancouver. Check out the incredible network of dedicated cycle roadways. I can get anywhere in the City using cycle paths. http://www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/engs...e_MAP_2007.pdf

How is riding on the sidewalk going to ruin your day? The reason cars have to share the road is because cyclists whined about the very same things about sharing the road with walkers. At least in those cases an accident meant a couple bumps and bruises...
I just told you the reason they were on the road. It's because there are speed limits on the pathways (20km/h) . A decent cyclist on a road bike can go 30km/h without too much difficulty.

and as I stated before, riding on sidewalks is illegal.

The hypocricy of those cyclists doesn't really help the cause of the pedallers.

Speaking of idiots on a bike, I nearly hit a ###### at the Chinook station parking lot because he figured he had the right to weave all over the road. I simply kept right, and expecting him to be a moron, I was almost stopped when he nearly pedaled right into my hood. I gave the idiot the finger and continued on with my day, but there really are a ton of idiot cyclists trying to get themselves killed.
Why are they hypocrites if they cycle on the road, which is perfectly legal, to avoid getting a speeding ticket on the pathways?

You sound like the typical "bikes don't belong on the roads, blah blah blah" person so I'm not sure why I waste my typing trying to talk to you about it. Are there bad cyclists out there? Yes there are. But they aren't this huge majority that people like you make them out to be. As I keep repeating, take 5 or 10 seconds out of your day, pass them safely, and go on your merry way.

After spending the last few years driving around the narrow and winding streets of Tokyo in a car with all manner of vehicles around me, it kind of makes me chuckle when people in Calgary, with so much clearance space around their vehicles get perturbed when a little cyclist decides to use the road to get from A to B.
No help, or desire to participate in the conversation, but I just can't get the "get off the road" mentality of those who own cars and drive them with no regards for anyone else.

Sure some cyclists are overly aggressive and don't stop all the time but they are really only taking their lives into their hands not yours.

Whereas car drivers HAVE to obey the rules of the road because they're in a 2000 lbs. death machine.

Inventing exaggerations and assigning them to me does not support your defence, Habernac. Find the quote where I said that the a-hole cyclists are a "huge majority", or start arguing based on what I do say.

As for the rest of your comments, simple fact is, many people on bikes don't belong on the roads. Simply because they fail to do exactly what you say drivers need to do - share the road safely.

As far as the hypocricy of people not wanting to get busted for speeding goes, it comes down to a simple fact: they don't want to share the paths with people on foot/blades.

You want us to share, but you don't want to share yourselves.

Hypocrites.
