Hmm i'm still waiting on my Slingbox that I ordered and paid for on Aug 14. For some reason I could have sworn it said 5-7 days to deliver... I expected it earlier this week.

I picked these up from Purolator yesterday

Futureshop has them on for about twice the price. They were pretty rocking.

I'm guessing October..

Been following this page: http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/s...480735&page=22

Probably give them a call in a few days to see what's up, by October I'm sure there'll be other deals as good.

Nintendo DS and a cordless keyboard/mouse combo are today's deals.

Apparently there was a Wii Remote but it sold out.

It's always sad when it's the last day of the Days of Deals. The next one is probably end of October/beginning of November, if the pattern holds.

I kind of expected the last day to be like the finally of a fireworks show, the biggest baddest popping deals to date... but these offerings are kind of a fizzle...

Shipping date on the TV has been changed to September 13...I guess that's a little better.

It appears Photon's evil plan to see how far I can max my credit cards is working.

Question for you- I see for analog inputs it has "RGB, S-Video, composite video." So does that mean I could hook my VCR to it for a tuner, and use it to watch regular TV? (Needing speakers too obviously.)

I'm not Photon obviously but I use a 19" Samsung 940BW as a second HDTV and as a second monitor hooked up to my Bell receiver via DVI. The only rider on this setup is that the monitor must be HDCP, which this monitor doesn't say it is. The E228WFP for $349 and the E207 for $249 are though.
Your idea should work also.
I use and like the Logitec X-230 speakers. Here they are at a good price of $30.

Yeah if you're going to be watching HD content on it you'd need HDCP (the ExtremeTech review of the 2007FPW says it has HDCP but it's not on Dell's site).

For regular stuff like using your VCR as a tuner it would work fine (though it'll be the wrong aspect ratio).
