Answering my own question, further research is that GM's warranty isn't eligible in Canada until its within service for 6 months or 12000 km.

Fair enough...$30K US will buy you something nice that's a 6months old/a year old. Knock out some of that domestic depreciation in that time, plus, since you're not able to be financing through GMAC in the US anyways, you'll have a 6 month old car with 2.5 years of a warranty (3.5 if a Caddy), likely to save $20K+ off new Canadian MSRP depending on the car.

For example, a 06 STS with 28K Kms, rare AWD and Nav can be brought back for $38K Canadian all in...new 07 MSRP is around $69K.

That is good to know Browna - I was wondering about GM but did do the research yet.

Sounds like they have the same policy as Toyota has adopted.

First of all, you have to buy from the states.. Especially if it's a three year old car. You'll save lots of cash.

I'd say you should be looking at used M3's out of Cali. Might cost 35 - 40K, but would be a sweet sweet ride.

The new G35x sedan is a pretty nice car as well. The coupe is everywhere but gorgeous.

ALFA ROMEO GT 3.2 V6:

In Finland about 50 000 € = 68 280 U.S. dollars

I prefer the old ones, though. If i ever graduate my plan is to fix my old Sprint completely and drive with that until i cant get no more spare parts. I see those newer alfas every day, too popular cars for me.
