Even with dumping Megatron in the deepest cavern in the ocean, there is no guarantee that the preasure will crush him. Starscream flies off, one can only assume he arrives back to their home planet, and tells of Megatrons demise, and pronouncing himself as the new learder of the Decepticons (his lifelong goal). Meanwhile, one of the other Decepticons finds a while to retrieve Megatron, revive him, and start gathering resources. Starscream comes back, with 5 - 10 Decepticons, possibly with Unicorn. Starscream discovers that Megatron is not dead, they battle, Starscream looses (as usual) and again falls into line behind Megatron.
This time, Autobots, and the Decepticons battle, more of the planet is destroyed, more humans are killed, and the Autobots must retreat for a time being.
Thus setting up the 3rd and final movie.
