Bothers me a bit the heat he takes here.

Agreed. He constantly praises Flames players, but nobody pays attention to that.
I find it a little silly how many here openly mock the Oilers broadcast crew for being homers, yet get upset when Hrudey talks about the other team a small amount.
I don't watch other teams much, so I appreciate some focus on the talented players I'm less familiar with. Like Celebrini for example, especially given the potential Team Canada storyline.
The constant whining here about everything he says is way more annoying IMO.

Kelly is great and he's a pleasure to have on our broadcast. Yeah he rambles on a bit but he does his job well and makes the broadcasts entertaining and offers a different view.
Lets not forget we have stiff as a board Simmer before Kelly.

Interesting watching the sharks. Get will smith back in the mix, misa gets another year of strength and a guy like musty keeps developing and they have 2 great young lines. Goaltending isn't terrible either.
But their blueline is embarassing for this level. Liljgren, iorio, ferraro look like ahlers, klingberg is made of glass at this point and barely plays defence. mukmu not even gonna try and spell his name is a work in progress. Basically orlov is their only nhl caliber workhorse dman.
They are just turnover after turnover and giving up a lot of open looks. Will be hard to beat them out in the reverse standings. Not sure what Grier is thinking there as surely they aren't tanking on purpose anymore

Missed the game so far, just watched the goals quickly... why wasn't that second goal icing? I haven't seen any slo-mo replays or anything to show the puck being tipped, etc. Just the clear from the D zone bouncing off the wall behind Wolf and then being shot in and everyone standing around wondering why it wasn't icing.

Yeah he was the worst but Garrett was bad too, having a canuck homer on our broadcasts doing color which periodically talking about how he loves chef boyardi or boiled weiners or whatever gross crap they were advertising at length.

Cant quote sporadically on certain posts lately for some reason, I get liking Garrett a bit he was humble and tried to be funny. Just didn't love having an ex player and fan of another team. Im all for having an ex flames homer out there. Id like to have sarich or warrener or someone like that if hrudey retires

Team has so much potential. Imagine they could draft Verhoeff and could package their extra 1st, 2nd and a prospect they won't be able to give ice time to like Lund for a real good mid career veteran blueliner for next year. They could quickly be a regular contender with how bad our division is. even though current blueline has to be top 3 worst in the league, Dickinson should get better.

I think TSN was trying to make Gio a thing. Maybe we could get him?
Reggie would be hilarious as colour:
"Yeah I don't what the D was doing there. I would've just rammed that guy right into the end boards..."
"Uhhh... Robyn, this is a Timbits thing. Those kids are only 6 years old..."
"Hemsky looked like he was six years old, but that didn't stop me.

If the flames are on the board at let’s say 3 and Verhoeff is there, would you trade it to the sharks for Misa?
Assuming McKenna and Stenberg go 1/2

Garrett is old enough now that his filter is gone and I love it.
The PbP guy was talking about how Dave Lowry was called “Pie” because of how good he is at math.
Garrett cut him off on the boradcast and said “are you kidding??!? Look at his FACE! Look at how round it is! “ The PbP guy tried to defend it and say it was what he was told and Garrett interrupted again “I PLAYED with him. Trust me!”
That’s what I want. Reality - even if it’s fat shaming (checks Lowrey’s career earnings) a millionaire.
