No worries! Ive made past poll threads like this and done nominations / seeding polls and it’s a bit of a pain. I wasn’t sure how much engagement this would get so I wasn’t about to sink a ton of time in it. Seeding also didn’t make a ton of sense here as there’s one juggernaut (oilers) and then 31 others racing for 2nd place.

I may make one more poll this off season after this finishes and I’ll probably do the nomination / seeding vote for that.

I must say the team I hated most was the 2010/11 version of the Canucks. I remember trying to cheer for them in the cup final because they were Canadian. But when Burrows bit that guy I vowed never again

Combining all round #1 voting results -- the Oilers were got the most votes with 541 votes out of all 32 teams. Dallas Stars were 2nd most with 508 votes.

So is their a desire to vote off the 31 franchises from most hated to least? Don't want to step on PaperBagger's toes.

If we do I think it might be more entertaining to vote for most liked and eliminate the teams that don't piss us off setting up a final five of teams most hated by elimination.

The bracket system is a bit wonky. A ranked poll like the prospect polls would be the true indicator. Plus I guess we'd figure out the most loved team at the same time.

Go for it, no worries at all. I have another hockey related bracket poll idea but I’ll probably save that for next off season. If you do decide to do it you can probably delete this thread, it would be a bit redundant.

It’s funny to me that the leafs are more hated than the Habs. I figured two Cup finals would cement that. The leafs don’t crack my top 5 for disliked franchises as they’re so bad, I’ve never considered them a threat. They haven’t beat Montreal in the playoffs in my lifetime.

Paperbagger'14 has admirably demonstrated the proof of concept, but three of the final four should be Oilers, Canucks, and Leafs, and to have anyone else in there is a mockery of our natural born hate.

I've never been forced to watch a Hab's "out of the playoffs" season ending game instead of the BOA Flames playing the Oilers for one of the last playoff spots.

That happened with the Leafs. I remember at the first intermission the guys at the media desk said "Oilers and Flames fans please stop calling the station, we'll switch over as soon as the second period starts".

Just a single example that sticks out. A lot of old boys in Ontario still think of the Leafs as "English Canada's team".

Which is why their last Stanley Cup needs to pass out of living memory.

Not sure the wild would have made my top 4 in all brackets, but thats the way the cookie crumbles.

I feel like the other 3 had an unstoppable march to the final 4 and they only could have blocked eachother.
