He didn't create problems for himself. He was quiet, and he was solid.

Even though he has some wild saves earlier in the season, IMO this was his best game of the year so far.
Well put. And that's Markstrom at his best. When things are uneventful around his net because he has it under control. Very few second chances on rebounds, and pucks directed away quickly or vacuumed up.

That was an interesting game. The second period was definitely a bend-don't-break experience, but they played it to a tie and then came out strong in the third.

Markstrom was so solid tonight. Good to see.

Lots of credit to the Zary-Kadri-Pospisil line again tonight. Even when the Flames were being outplayed, they would still go out and put together a shift where they got a bit of offensive zone time and evened things out a little bit so that it wasn't complete domination.

Mangiapane also did a lot of good things tonight.

Was surprised Hrudey mentioned that, like it was some sort of detraction. Even Ball seemed to correct him, adding the he hasn’t needed to part.

When a goalie is on the top of his game, he makes saves look routine and easy.

The only time a goaltender needs to make an acrobatic save is when he has gotten himself out of position, or his defence have oopsied and have given a backdoor option the goalie has to bail them out on.

I think Ball stepped in and said that because Hrudey didn't mean for it to sound like a criticism. I think it was meant by Hrudey as an observation.

Flames take 4 points from Florida teams visiting Alberta. Oilers take ZERO while getting outscored 12-5.

It was pointed out by the folks at hf, but apparently the Oilers have to score 4 or more goals to win games this year.

With 3 or less they're 1-11 or something.

Oilers fans: Yeah, the Panthers played their backup. If they played Stolarz against us, we'd scored more than 3 goals against them.

Fun game. Markstrom was a beast.

Florida looks totally different than last year. It's like last year every puck was going on for them, and then now the opposite is happening.

If Tkachuk is THAT badly injured still, then go on LTIR you f***ing jerk. You helped the team last season but guess what? That was LAST season #######. Barkov also MUST step up his play even more. He’s got an A grade from the league right now but he’s not giving us wins over easier opposition. Not good enough.

The PP coach MUST BE FIRED TOMORROW. It’s not working so dump him. Flush him down the f***ing drain. Be gone, loser. Walk away. You don’t deserve an Uber.

Monty and Ek came back too early. Monty especially: you suck right now. Your scores against Boston in the playoffs were - you guessed it - LAST season. That’s history. What have you done lately? #### is what you’ve done. f*** off. You and the rest of the team deserve ten bag skate practices until you can’t skate anymore.
I thought Florida fans don't criticize their hockey team like this? It's only big markets and Canadian fans who do this?

Imagine selling the UFAs for picks & younger players and still getting into the wildcard.

Is it possible fans on both sides could get what they want?

It would be great. That's the dream scenario.

Then the Flames win the Cup and Montreal takes the 2024 pick to close the Monahan deal for good!

Trade him for Savard.

This will make both fan bases happy.

At least until their team's next power play, when they will discover that they still suck.
