No shame getting dominated by the Oilers, yet again.

I've never been more enticed by a loss. Reality is going to fall quick on this roster after being blown out by their #1 rival.
This is a catalyst moment for this season, and a long play lesson for the franchise. First real challenge in the Darryl Sutter era 2.0.
Buckle up.

It's rare that any goal is a goalie'a "fault" but he did not slide over very efficiently on the Nugent Hopkins goal
I'm no goalie coach, but I doubt Markstrom last year under Ian Clark would have allowed RNH to have so much of the net to shoot at.
Of course the goal is Lucic's "fault". I'm not suggesting otherwise. I just don't think that's Markstrom at the top of his game on display.

I can't wait to see what Darryl does. He has been the coach for nine days and I would imagine he already has a clear idea about all the players.

Sucks to the lose the Oilers - especially in blowout fashion - but you can't win them all. Wasn't all on Markstrom, but he wasn't sharp. Smith was very sharp, and the Flames didn't do enough to test him.
I at least have the faith now that this team will regroup and look better next game.

I think Flames need trade for goal scoring RW. This team need goal scorer who can shoot. Or at least bring faster puck handling 2B centre who can play 19 and 29, and let 28 play with 13 23.

I should be happy with a 3-1 record, but wanted 4. Time to start another 3 game winning streak.

I think he was caught off guard by that terrible turnover. Can’t give McDavid the puck on that one.
I didn’t like Markstrom’s game tonight at all but I don’t think he was bad until the third.

Not as badly played a game as the score would have one believe, but I can't shake the feeling that - even with Sutter - this team is primed for - and would benefit from - some serious roster changes.
They just strike me as a team that reached its zenith a couple of years ago, plateaued, and will only trend slowly downward now. Better to cash in the chips they have and buy into a new table before they find themselves skint.
The Flames have lots of nice pieces, and I'm still optimistic that with the Seattle disruption and the flat salary cap that there are some good deals to be made out there. Two or three major changes might be all it takes to rebuild this team in the right direction.

He likely didn't expect Lucic to setup McDavid in the slot...it's not like he was set

I thought Hanifin lost RNH on that play initially, but I see he just got caught flat by the giveaway halfway between McDavid and RNH.
I know Lucic gave it away, but the mandate to move the puck up the ice quickly sometimes results in bad decisions like that. He thought he could cause a breakaway the other way. He really shouldn’t try it on his backhand from where he was.

Lucic has been doing that all year...10 plus goals are directly his fault.

okay yeah, but they were down 2-0 early because of Lucic and the PKer who didn't clear it when he had the chance.
Gaudreau and Monahan were not on the ice for any goals against, and ended the night +1

[MOD EDIT] That's unnecessary.
