The season is d-o-n-e.
Fire the coach as the one thing I suppose.

This has been said for years ad nauseum but if anything it's been more of a justification to stand pat and waste Gaudreau's contract.
There is nothing wrong with making player-for-player swaps to try and get something going. Carolina struck gold with Niederreiter-for-Rask a couple years ago. It happens.
This team needs to start taking risks and not refusing to make adjustments out of fear of messing up. They're already messing up by doing nothing.

You have to fill your time with something. Some times you have to clip your toenails. Some times you have to clean the toilet. Some times you have to clean the gutters. Some times you have to watch the Flams.

The good news is, Flames don't need to fuss about who to protect in the expansion draft.

This interview with Lucic is hilarious. Like, should this guy be coach? He sounds pissed which is super weird to me. Like he realizes he’s on the team as a player right?

Another thought that bears mentioning....
This season is a 56 game playoff run. If anything this exposes how easy it 8s to puck this team apart when you play them 3 or 6 times in a row. Aka, not a successful playoff build?

He said before the set with the Oilers that it wouldn't be about the result but about how they play those games that matters (and that was following the expletive call out from the coach).
I think we got a really good idea about the quality of their performance in the 7 games since that interview.
A really good idea.

Do you think he should be the one to do it? Personally I don't. Someone divorced from this build needs to come in, assess and move pieces. Enough with the Treliving era imo. Blow out the entire front office.

I don't even care about the season.
I just want to watch exciting games where the team scores over two goals. I don't even care if we have to send Tanev and Giordano out for some Justin Schultz types.

I still get excited before each Flames game, still hopeful for a win, hoping to see some exciting energetic hockey, with a determined effort. I say this even though I know very well that this team is at its core fundamentally flawed, they rarely put forward a good effort, they play perimeter hockey, very little offensive creativity, they don’t carry the play, they’re more often than not on the losing end of 50:50 battles, I have very little expectation they will actually win, yet I still get excited before games.
Something very wrong with me

As long as those swaps are not to save the season sure.
Moreover, they shouldn't be thinking about how not waste to Gaudreau's contract, but rather how to leverage it to maximize return on the asset.
No player for player deal is going to save this season - and could just do more long-term damage.

I actually think Lucic may be the strongest leader on the team. I'm not even being facetious in saying that.

Well it's clear that they aren't going to turn things around under this coach as the losses have gone from close losses to blowouts and if they are going to make a coaching change it would have to happen this week or they may fall too far off the pace as even the Canucks will move within two points after tonight and we have been talking about them like their season is over.

The warmup alone should be fireable for ward. Trade everyone worth everything because this team is contaminated.

Not only this... but be completely silent on the whole thing... unacceptable he didn’t go out and get this team a top end coach. I’m done with Treliving.

I'm glad I stopped watching after the first. I saw everything I needed to know in order to determine this was going to be a garbage game for the Flames. Unless the Flames go on a run soon I think my interest in watching this team is pretty much done.

This has to be the most disappointing team since 2010-2011.
This team is not the sum of its parts. It’s far too deep and talented for this to be acceptable. If BT is unwilling or unable to fix this then it’s time for him to take a hike.
