What would ppl think of this top 9? Maybe switching Dube and Gaudreau gets Gaudreau away from the other team’s top players and gives the Monahan line another player that goes to the dirty areas to dig the puck out?

Lucic - Bennett - Gaudreau

I'm down for the noon start time, but I feel it is a bit odd that we are playing game 4 in this slot while Vancouver/STL is playing game 3 in the late slot. Every other series seems to be paced normally while this one is 4 games in 5.5 days.

I would have hoped this schedule was to the Flames’ advantage with a younger core? But they did look kind of gassed in the game 3 robbery....

Saddling Dube with Monahan strikes me as foolish, Dube plays a speed game... but.... if Dube goes and digs it out and the Garbageman can score in the middle... it could work. I'd rather see Mangiapane and Monahan together for that reason.

I think doing anything to get Gaudreau away from Dallas' top defenders will pay off. I know it's sad to have to shield Johnny like that, but I feel like if he could just get a game under his belt and build some confidence he could take off. It seems silly to have to do that to a top NHL player but we've got to try something. He really should be able to shine against lesser defenders. Pop a couple "easy" ones and build from there.

We just have to get him going somehow; anyhow!

Personally I don't think moving Johnny down is the answer. I think it's a style of play problem for their line. Johnny, Mony and Lindy shine when they carry the puck in and cycle rather then dump and chase. Johnny even mentioned it in his latest interview after the last game. Lindholm is the best for dump and chase, but when he dumps the puck in, Mony and especially Johnny aren't the best at retrieving it. I think the solution is to play to their strengths, which is to carry the puck in and cycle.
