I actually took the night off for the first time in years. This stretch has been murder on my blood pressure. I needed a break.

Didn’t say that. Based only on what we are seeing now.
Fortunately they have a number of home games and time to turn things around.

They need to watch whole games of when they were dominating. Get the mojo back and remember who they are, although I wouldn't be surprised to hear Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk and Gaudreau are all playing injured.

I would rather play Minny...but I think I would choose Vegas over Dallas honestly
Flames need to get their game back but I honestly don't care that much about the division

When it comes to the playoffs, I’d sooner the Flames go against Vegas in round one than almost anyone. This group has a few steps to take before they can grow into a championship caliber team, and going to war with Vegas would be one hell of a way to learn what it takes.

Last game of the year versus the Oilers will be meaningful as a lottery ball battle. Panic panic, cry cry woe is me. I don’t even want to watch any more, gonna get bounced by the Wild, but also get passed by the Sharks and the Knights. First round playoff fodder but also out of the playoffs some how, this is the worst collapse I’ve ever seen.

Mediocre franchise will do mediocre things. Since when has any Flames team played clutch in crunch time? Once in the last 25 years in 04. Maybe 2015?
If BT didn't blow his load trying to get Stone, maybe he would have had time to make the Zucker trade a reality (if rumours were true that it just didn't get to the league office in time).
I said it that day and i'll say it again, this team needed to add speed upfront at the deadline to have any chance in the playoffs. They look slow, lethargic and weak. We saw the same story last year. BIG warning sign the team is not good enough yet that this is how they appear in playoff type hard checking hockey.
I have to give every loyal Flames fan credit though (myself included), to continue to cheer for a team that has been the definition of mediocrity and is notorious for never winning in the clutch, we sure are a loyal bunch.
We are in some serious trouble come playoff time, regardless of how the Flames end the season against some bottom tier teams.

From a scoring chance perspective, the last 3 games have been even or a slight edge to the Flames. I'm getting shades of last years team and their lack of finish, but the effort is still there.
I'll worry when the Flames get completely outplayed in one of these losses. Until then, people need to relax, take a look at the standings and remind themselves of where they expected the Flames to be in standings at the start of year.

You’re gonna get lit up for this post but it’s hard to argue with you. I hate it but you’re summary is pretty accurate.

Is it upsetting? Maybe a little.
But glass half full is that almost every decent offensive weapon the flames have is struggling and the flames are still playing decent hockey. It's pretty unlikely that all of lindholm, backlund, Johnny, Monahan and tkachuk will continue to play poorly.

This team has scored more than 2 goals in a game just once in the past 8 games. If you can't see why that's concerning, I don't know what to say.
While it's true that the sky is not falling, it's also naive to just take for granted that they'll bounce back just like every other slump they've had. This one is more worrying than the others. It seems that we've reached the time of year when other teams find another gear but the Flames can't do the same.

agreed, Flames could have won any of the last four games. This game and the Leafs game the other team was better. Last night was a tie for evaluation purposes and really should have beat the Wild.
Its a slump but I won't be burning my tickets

Did you mean mediocre teams do mediocre things, or did you mean to say mediocre fans do mediocre things?

Also I know everyone is down on their play since the all star break but they are not the only ones:
Flames: 8-7-2
Knights: 8-7-1
Predators: 9-7-1
Jets: 8-8-2
So not that uncommon among west playoff teams right now. Only the Blues (13-3-1) and Sharks (10-3-1) have been playing well in the West since the break.
I still think they can get out of it. Think they got a little too comfortable with the 7 game win streak and having a big lead on the Sharks. Now that the Sharks seem to have caught them it’s time to see if they can play with some desperation again.
And really I do think that first goal was a bit of a back breaker (which is a bit concerning). They played a tough, playoff style game last night against Vegas, have to travel after a late start (and lose an hour). Then they came out tonight and dominated the first 10 minutes but first mistake they made ends up in the net and you could see the wind just come out of their sails.
Big game against Vegas Saturday. I think we see some fight and desperation in that one .
