I feel he hasn't hurt the team most nights and despite not getting a lot of points has contributed to some solid zone time in the opposition end. I think the issue with the on/off again health is that it's hard to find a place or role for him. For him to be a fixture on a line he needs to be able to play a consecutive month of hockey.

He's been a beast in the offensive zone in every game he's played. It's unfortunate his body is quitting on him.

Agreed, however a player like Mangiapane and Hathaway look to be upgrade over Jagr.
Is Jagr the 12th or 13th forward ?

This is precisely what I was thinking, he missed training camp and ever since has been fighting a few little injuries, give him some time on the IR to heal and get up to speed and see how he feels later on.
He got dropped into this team from the sky right at the start of the season, people who have been playing for Gulutzan for 18 months still arent up to speed on his system even when they're fit and healthy.

He has been that for sure but coming up the ice he hasn't even been a step slow...more like 3 or 4. I have seen shots of him on the bench during broadcasts and I get the impression he is not having a lot of fun but maybe it is nagging injuries.

Hahaha all that speculation:
Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames Glen Gulutzan just told us that Jaromir Jagr is still day-to-day.

Guys on 960 also leery of the day to day news. As they note, Bob McKenzie and Elliotte Friedman both picking up on this story, something likely up.

Friedman didn't even know about Gully's comments on Jagr's status until the morning show guys explained it to him this morning on the air.

McKenzie/Friedman comments weren't based on anything Gulutzan said so much as Jagr's constant state of flux. I think what the 960 guys were getting at is that there is more to this than Jagr simply being day to day as even the NHL insiders are starting to speculate.

Lifetime Suspension

Its probably not nothing. Jagr is an honest guy and he knows if his body isn't able to handle it and is likely pretty skeptical right now but not ready to make a call. If I were him I wouldn't worry about the games played record or anything like that. Would be so much better if he can pot an important goal or two down the stretch after some rest when he's feeling 100 percent or close to it. Helping the team win would feel better at the end of the day.
Its a good scenario if we make the playoffs and can dress mangiapane and Jagr on a 4th line that can actually do some damage and handle more ice time

I can't post the article but Eric D suggests in an article about GG's rant in the Athletic today that the Flames are likely negotiating Jagr's release.

He's going to play in the Olympics. That's my guess.
