Matt Read seems like a big name for waivers.

There's a reason. He's been pushed off the roster by kids. He hasn't been very good for a couple of seasons now at his cap hit. Think of him like a good portion of CP thinks about Brouwer.

I had no idea Matt Read was 31 years old. Feels like just yesterday he was one of Feaster's trade targets.
I also had no idea how much he had fallen off.

 Corey Pronman @coreypronman
As Malcolm Subban hits waivers, Andrei Vasilevskiy has been only first round goalie in the last 10 drafts to secure an NHL job.

Quite a few former Flames on that list and throughout the pre-season. Not missing any of our cast-offs thankfully.
Does this mean Bouma stuck with the Blackhawks? I'm mildly surprised by that.

I thought Vegas still had surplus D?? ... I also thought today was the last day to get the roster down to compliant size, is that incorrect?

From what I am seeing on capfriendly, they are at 24 men if they send Theodore down.

Either they have a trade in the works or there are some undisclosed injuries which will make a player non-roster.

Hopefully there isn't a delay with the Vegas roster due to the events of last night.

Huh? Something happen? Or is this Jagr related? Only notable thing that happened over night that I can think of.

Can you elaborate for me?

There was a huge mass shooting in Vegas. Don't see how that would affect hockey decisions though.

But 10 of those would be defencemen. I mean, it's possible, but I can't remember a team ever carrying 10 defencemen and 11 forwards. Like you said, there has to be a few undisclosed injuries or a trade forthcoming. Or less likely, and hopefully not the case, they've been given some extra time with bigger issues happening in their town - lots of country music fans on the roster.

Edit: not implying anything, and Vegas did put Pulkkinen on waivers today.

I would be intrigued by Rychel, but he doesn't help our "slow team"
