Brutal.
I now have to actively cheer against Iggy, in what could be his final season.

I'm not happy it's the Kings, but I hope it's a meaningful last ~20 games for the guy and he can go out with a somewhat relevant stretch of play.

Out of thanks but totally agree.

Which is why he waived to LA. No other teams wanted him, including Calgary. At least he has a shot at the playoffs and play some meaningful games at the end of the season, rather than the tire fire in Colorado.

The risk was for Calgary picking him up, not LA. Bringing back Iggy would have been a major distraction, and quite frankly there's no sense risking our chemistry we seemed to have developped this month for a guy who has looked terrible all year.

No problem with what he did when he was here. I don't want any washed up guys on the teams I cheer for. He's done.

Silver linings for those that wanted him back:
Hopefully after getting out of that absolute tire fire, Jarome goes on a bit of a run and pots 12 goals and reaches 20 this season. That would be impressive.
Hopefully LA goes on a nice run (with 3 losses against Calgary), and both LA and St. Louis with their soft schedule pass Edmonton.
At the very least, it will be interesting to see how Jarome does in LA. That team doesn't score though, and I wonder how he does. I do think that Colorado has been an absolute pit of place to play this year, and I am guessing Jarome surprises a few of us. There is no way that MacKinnon, Landeskog and Duchene all suck that much.

At least this can finally put an end to the Iggy to the Flames threads.
I wouldn't consider it a lock yet for the Kings to make the playoffs, but might have been the best shot Iggy had.

Exactly. I think this is the more likely scenario than the Kings catching us. St. Louis had the initial bump from the coaching change, but it's clear they just aren't as good as years past. They sold Shattenkirk as well, weakening their defense.
Kings moved out King for Iginla and picked up Bishop. They played quite well last night defensively. If Iginla can help in any way offensively, they might get past St. Louis into the playoffs.

Oh totally agree. I just was pointing out that there unfortunately wasn't demand for an older guy. I want him to do good, my all time favorite player, but I just don't see a point of bringing him back for nostalgic reasons.

This thread scares me now - way too much crow to be eaten.
Sutter turned Lecavalier into an NHL player again, lets not write Iginla off yet.
