Between that and a broadcast crew so annoying that they need every square inch of their butts kicked its annoying.

McDavid, Draisaitl, Talbot. That is all.

I'm so upset. I wanna down a bottle of whiskey to drown my sorrows. This can't actually be happening. WTF NHL!

Didn't say otherwise.

I'm just pointing out we had the exact reversed schedule last week. Yet we also blew it against a tired NJ.

You said it brother. 3 in OT/SO, 2 against tired teams, and of which opponents included New Jersey and Arizona.

Plan the parade! woo wooo.

So Oilers are 10pts up now from playoff cutoff line. I see them making it this year.

Just my opinion, but objectively I don't think the Oilers are even close to being as bad as some on CP keep saying. I do think though, with the hype that organization and media that covers the team love to drum up, that there's a very high chance they "go for it" too early, which will squash the likelihood of them reaching the next level at the right time. I can see some more free agency mistakes which leave the roster short on being a complete line up.

Its unfortunate, the Panthers for most of the night deserved a better fate. But when you have Talbot playing superhero mode what do you expect.

This Oilers team is a lot like the Flames team from a few years back that had a lot of lucky bounces and success getting to the loser point. They'll return to misery soon.
doubt it

Oilers underlying numbers are very good in terms of corsi

Flames relied on a 3-period comebacks and a high PDO to get in the playoffs (and LA and SJ crapping the bed)...their possession metrics were horrible

unlike the Oilers

This will tell you all you need to know about the Edmonton Oilers schedule this season.

Doesn't really matter though if the Flames continue to drop points when they're playing a so-called "tired" team.

I don't really care what any of the experts say, if this team plays Talbot as much as they have been, they are done. He's currently on pace for starting 75 games. That is insane.

This is the first time in a decade they're playing meaningful hockey in mid January.

But it really is sad they only show up after a win. Isn't that trolling? I don't see why else an Oiler fan who doesn't post here often only comes here after a win. It's pretty sad.

Oilers may seed higher on the backs of all their OT games but I see the Flames doing more damage in the post-season. Keeping in mind neither are close to contending.

-Games will be solved in continuous 5 on 5 without shootouts
-Even playing field in terms of tired teams
-Experience/lack thereof
-Talbot will likely be a beaten horse running on fumes
-Flames' top players have yet to really wake up, their depth has been good enough to keep them in a playoff spot most of the season. That's good depth.

Still not writing off an Oiler collapse of sorts or Flames going on another charge, though. We'll see how it all plays out.

IF the Oilers make the playoffs, it'll be on the back of loser points and 3 on 3 winners. Neither of which exist in the playoffs.

In addition, Kipper was always exhausted by the time the playoffs rolled around after playing 70+ games. Can't see how Talbot won't be fatigued. If McDavid or Talbot go down, this team will implode.

Wow Oilers are for real this year. So much skill up front, so much grit sprinkled throughout the lineup. Then to top it all off they have one of the best goaltenders in the league. Congrats to Oiler fans in Alberta!

It looks like the Oilers have a lot of supporters in Calgary as well. Flames fans watch every Oilers game. Good job! All of Canada is rooting for ya!

I know it's hard for a self centered Leafs fan to imagine that sometimes actual hockey fans like to watch hockey that doesn't involve their favorite team but it does happen.
