Put another way: if the Blue Jackets are able to trade veteran left wing Scott Hartnell -- they've been trying for weeks now -- maybe they'd have some play money to dip into the NHL's summer sale. If they could scrub Hartnell’s salary cap figure ($4.75 million) off the books, they’d have nearly $9 million under the cap.

There were some rumblings Andrew Ladd was supposed to visit DET this morning. That did not occur, so all signs point to NYI.
Trade Deadline, when Sergei Plotnikov was the only player traded for a good hour (or two?) and so TSN and Sportsnet spent all that time analyzing him to oblivion. It was so funny.
