quick question about NHL Center ICE
If I have a place on Telus (Calgary), and another on Shaw (in BC), can I get one Center Ice subscription to work on both carriers? Clearly would rather have it at both (BC for Flames games when I'm there, and Calgary to see other games)

I'm pretty sure Centre Ice is limited to your provider meaning you'd need two subscriptions. If you have good reliable internet speeds at both locations and are willing to put up with slightly less quality, Game Centre should be a better solution.

So my concern now is even if I use gamecentre live with unblock us, wont I have to have an american address to purchase NHL gamecentre? If I want to buy GCL in Canada I have to go through Rogers... so if I do that I imagine there's a specific app for GCL now to access it, that even using unblock us wont be of any help.
And how will this affect centre ice? ugh. God damn it I hate Rogers so much.

If I were you I'd get it in BC on Shaw. With Centre Ice you get a free gamecentre subscription on top of that. When in Calgary, watch the games through gamecentre (which is easy enough to do on your TV these days with Apple TV, PS4 or various other devices).

Wouldn't there be an issue with regards to watching the Flames game on GameCentre in Calgary due to blackouts? If I understand things correctly, the Flames games will be blacked out on GameCentre for people accessing within the Flames broadcast region (ie. a Calgary IP address will trigger a blackout.)
He would have to masked his IP address to a region outside of the Flames regional broadcast area.

Yeah I just meant if he wants to watch other games. He has Telus Optik so I assume he'll be watching the Flames games on TV.

I got an email this morning confirming how much GCL was going to cost me this year as an international subscriber, $99.95 USD in 5 instalments of $19.99 USD, not too bad and similar to last season.
Happy days, now to get a vpn sorted out to get past the blackouts.

Can you get past the blackouts by changing your DNS settings?

Are there blackouts for international subscribers? I would have figured that you would be able to see all games without any blackout restrictions.

I went to renew my GCL subscription, and it directed me to Rogers as I was at work so I wasn't on my unblockus DNS. I enabled Hola unblocker and put myself in Spain... and $100 year GCL worked great.

I received a NHL Game Center email renewal notice earlier this week stating the charge was set to automatically charge my credit card $99 for the following year, but I'm outside US/Canada.
This is the link I am using:
https://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/secure/gclsignup
and I just sign in from there.
Does the OP mean that Rogers is taking over this service? or just in Canada?

Just Canada. Same link on a Canadian DNS gives you this:
"NHL GameCenter LIVE™ is not yet available for purchase in Canada. More information will be available in the coming weeks, please check back soon."
Previously that page re-directed me to Rogers just 2 days ago.

Contacted Rogers directly because there is conflicting information about registration dates and early bird discounting. They now say GCL registration begins Sept 15, priced at $179.99. That's a $20 savings on the regular price.
The story keeps changing tho, so who knows.

Looks like the $180 is an 'earlybird' price.

i'm so confused about all this.
I am a rogers cable and internet subscriber. I receive all regional broadcasts of sportsnet, as i have a pretty big cable bundle in my package. Naturally, in past years, all the games on sportsnet west have been blacked out. As such, i have been an annual subscriber to center ice to catch all calgary flames games, though in past years have switched over to game center, as it allows me to watch on more options than just my tv (when the wife has got control of the remote).
This year, will i need to subscribe to GCL? If so, do i just wait till jan when the free trial is complete?

I am assuming you do not live in Calgary like myself so my answer is yes, sign up for GCL with your Rogers account and get the free subscription until the new year. What I don't know is the cost after that.
This is for online only, surely there is a cable package available?

yes, i'm in toronto.
am curious about the cable side of things. again my package gives me all sportnet region channels, including sportsnet west.
If i get these channels, will my cable box blackout the hockey games outside of my home sportnet channel (ontario).

You won't be able to see the 50 or so regional Flames games with that package. They will be blacked out.

VPN's guys. It's not illegal. There are several very cheap ones. I use PureVPN and nothing is ever blacked out on my browser/iphone/ipad.
