Iginla would bring absolutely nothing to that team (that multiple other players couldn't bring better or more of).
If that's what he meant he's terrible at conveying messages. But no surprise this is the same troll who thinks Cammalleri is in the running for Team Canada.

Which other players have 2 gold medals? What other players have played in 3 Olympics and been a key player in both gold medal games? Leadership shouldn't be underrated.

Martin Brodeur is the only other guy still playing that you can say that about, should he be part of the team in place of another goaltender?

You're not wrong, really, I just think that the fact he played on the Olympic team 12 years ago shouldn't be much of a factor in whether he plays on this one.

A lot of guys won gold last year that are going to be on the team this year. There isn't a big lack of leadership, and I think when you're considering leadership, there are other guys who bring that plus significantly more to the table.

The thing is I'm not arguing that he should be on the team but there is no way he brings nothing to the team.

We should have a contest: who can come up with the most obscure OP topic that still turns into an Iggy debate within 100 posts?

Even if he was playing out of his mind. Team Canada reserves the spots on their team for the superstars. Taking anyone but those Superstars or studs in their role (Bergeron) would bring on ridicule from the country.

Who would you take out?

I think we're on the same page, different chapters maybe.

Would Iginla bring something to the team if he were on it? Absolutely.
Would Iginla bring something that another, better player, couldn't also bring? No.

I suppose to say there is no way he brings anything to the team would be a bit silly.

Maybe he's got a relative that lives in the Italian part of Switzerland, they're a better team and might be looking to add some scoring.
