if they are "this bad" the odds are extreamly low...there are still teams worse then them have you looked at the standings. besides the last place team has a 25% chance of picking first overall

I have heard a lot of people around town talking about this...don't get your hopes up its highly unlikely and hardly a strategy to build a organization around

No offence but, I am happy they did . Now mabey I might be able to get some tickets to games I want to see if more peole opt out . I am a die hard fan for life. I am a 4th year student whos broke but still willing to take out a little more student loan to see them play live. Which doesn't sound that impressive within its self but when you factor in I live In Victoria and I'd have to fly to Calgary. We (Me and the girlfriend) were going to fly out 3 times already this year (It was ACtually her idea )but couldn't get ticketts that weren't literally last row in the nose bleeds. If we could ever get tickets in a decent spot in the second bowl or closer to the ice we would go. I'm hoping more bandwagoners jump of before January because that is the next time we are going to attempt it agian.

That is a bandwagoner. And people screamed for a rebuild so they should support it.

not paying the high ticket prices to see this product is one thing but no longer cheering for the team is ridiculous

I think the evidence that this city will support a rebuild was on display when Winsport was full to watch the prospects play.

If there is a prolonged period of time that the Flames suck, I think the sellout streak will be in jeopardy, but if they get a boat load of good prospects over the next few years, I think we have enough knowledgable fans that will go to games.

Plus there are 20 games a year that are must see - Penguins, Oilers, Canucks, Leafs, Habs, Jets, Hawsk, Bruins, Red Wings that tickets will sell.

How is this sell out streak still in place? If it is, it's such a farce. Huge chunks of seats in the bleeders were free for out last home game against the Hawks. No chance all those tickets were sold, at least not legitimately to the buying public.

Hm. Pre sold to sport chek at a discount and failure to be resold?

Next season, you probably see Gaudreau play pro. Probably Arnold, Agostino and Gillies, too. Maybe Klimchuk and Poirier.

Depending on who they retain, you probably also get another mid-to-late 1st and a 2nd rounder for the assets they sell off this year. Those guys probably generate Sieloff-level prospects in this draft class.

Optimistically, I see next year being as "bad" as this year, but with more consistency and cohesiveness in the roster. The team probably starts rising from the muck in 2015-16 and become a "a bit outside the playoffs" team. 2016-17 is optimistically when the team becomes a bubble team.

That's probably the hopeful internal timeline, as well.

If the team gives away the tickets to local charities and organizations, which many franchises across professional leagues do they count towards the sell out. It's really just a tickets distributed streak.

Games are already more exciting to watch than they have been the last 3 years. Monahan already has as many points and more goals this year than Iginla has.

This year will probably be the worst of it too. Next year Monahan will be another year older hopefully improves on what he does this year. Sven as well. Throw in potential rookies like S Reinhart, Ekblad, Gaudreau, Porier and/or Klimchuk. I really beleive next year will be more exciting to watch, might not translate into a ton more wins but it will be alot more exciting

If you are a die hard Flames fan and you don't enjoy watching Monahan play to this point your not a real Flames fan

As long as fans see progress they'll support a rebuild. If they see an Edmonton thing with continual last place finishes, then the Dome will empty faster then my bladder on the day after cheap beer night at my neighbourhood bar.

No.

This city will not support a rebuild.

Calgary hockey fans have come to expect a Cup contender every year.

Which is why the franchise was moved to Seattle in 1990.
