1. LA
2. San Jose
3. Vancouver
4. Edmonton
5. Anaheim
6. Phoenix
7. Calgary

IMO the top 3 will be these three teams (in some order). The middle ground is where it gets murky. I am thinking that unfortunately this is the year the Oilers take that step forward in their rebuild. I feel like Anaheim is due to regress from last year (potentially losing Selanne and I feel the D overachieved last year in the shortened season). On paper Phoenix appears to have the same "lack of true top line forward" issue Calgary has, but overall D and goal tending is far more proven. Plus Tippet is a magician it seems with this team. I am predicting a tough year for Flames fans but am ready to be pleasantly surprised if the new look Flames can continue to surprise the league as they did at the end of last year.

I've been meaning to throw some predictions, but... eh. Getting properly analytical about next season would make it too hard to keep a light-hearted attitude about it all.

Go Flames go. I doubt I can be as frustrated with the team as I was in B. Sutters last season, so that's a plus.
