Great pick! Pure sniper.
Played on McDavid's line at the U18 WJC and they tore the tournament to shreds.

I graduated from Scarlett in 2006, maybe he'll surpass Heatley as the most successful sports alumni one day.

I've also seen Klimchuk listed as a centre but I guess that video confirms, left wing.

Klimchuk will get the distinction of being the center piece of the Iginla trade.
The draft pick that keeps giving:
Nilsson -> Nieuwendyk -> Iginla -> Klimchuk

Seems like a composed and fairly well-spoken kid. Glad to have a Calgary guy come out of that first round that seems to fit this management's preferred mould (not to mention a kid who actually wanted to be drafted by Calgary).

Really like this kid, an industrious winger. I think he projects to be a 2nd/3rd liner, a Brendan Morrow type.

According to this post (not sure where the source is), one scout projects him as a depth forward that could top out as a 3rd liner:

Kind of what you can expect for a 28th pick, so I am not complaining. My expectations are tempered though.

I have heard Roger Millions and Rob Kerr mention Jordan Eberle as a comparable... I know Button shot it down but anyone that watches Klimchuk a lot is that a fair comparison in terms of style?

I remember 2 months ago Lubo was talking about WHL kids that he thinks teams should be watched closely come draft time and he was so high on Klimchuk that I was sold. When asked on 960 when it comes time for the Flames to make their 22,28th pick should they consider drafting Morgan Klimchuk and Pete said "absolutely when you think of being competitive that is what Morgan is all about"
This is exactly who I had hoped the Flames would pick at 28th and was jacked when it happened.
Everyone says this kid is NHL bound and other players say they hate to play against him and would love to play with him.

Pretty excited about this pick, Morgan doubled his goal total from his second to third year in Regina. Wasn't expecting much from this draft slot being that it was Pitt's but all in all I think Klimchuk is great value and can't wait to watch him play.

2. Morgan Klimchuk, Calgary Flames If there’s a more “I’ve just been drafted by the Calgary Flames” look given by a Calgary Flames draft pick, we haven’t seen it.

Lol. I really like the pick, but that is a funny caption. #6 is my favorite.
