For the love of god no he's gone plain and simple. Watch the press conference from yesterday. There's no doubt in my mind that he's moved on. The next time we'll see him in the dome is when he's here playing against the flames. That's when he'll get the recognition he deserves.

I don't recall that at all, in any way, shape or form in the Dome.

Going to this game tonight. First Flames game ever (first NHL game period) - wish Iginla got this one last game tonight so I could say I'd seen him play live.

There was one guy in my section (219) that screamed it in the last few minutes of every loss, or even if we were playing poorly. The last few weeks before the firing he definitely picked up support from others. I didn't mean to imply it was a 19,000 strong chant or anything, but it was definitely noticeable in my section.

Really? You'd rather we shoot ourselves in the foot even more by going on a tear and losing out on a nice, high draft pick?
I hate losing as much as the next guy but I'd rather this "rebuild" get concluded as quickly as possible.

I will cheer for a team that goes out and gives it it's all every game, win or lose. I will not cheer for a team that's goal is to lose on purpose for the 1st overall pick. I will not be an Oilers fan. They will likely lose more than they win and end up with a very good pick, that's fine. As I said, cheering for a loss, pathetic.

I just ordered a pizza from a place I've never tried, and cracked open a coop gold beer. I'm wearing my Iggy jersey and I'm ready to paaaarty (quietly drink my beer with my cat while checking this thread on my laptop).
Woooo! Who's with me?

What part of draft position does not equate to future success do people not understand? or is it just easier to simplify things?
Does the average red wings fan look back on the drafting of Joe Murphy with any sentimentality? Or how about the senators with any of their first overall picks? Did that really work out? Honestly we should be able to agree that the draft is generally a crap shoot. I agree with the bullets in the chamber theory, but in the end position doesn't always mean that much.
I hope that the flames win any game they play. I have a hard enough time dealing with thinking about cheering for the canucks or oilers winning against a team the flames are battling for a playoff position against.
Anyway, go flames go. I hope they win as much as they can and don't give any perception of giving up.
I think we are going to see what the coaches and the veterans in the room are made of. It's not on Iggy anymore, it's on what we have left in and around the dressing room.

My girlfriend is making me see Spring Breakers tonight. I'd rather watch Calgary backhand bitch slap Columbus all the way back to the Santa Maria.
On the plus side, I get to see boobies, which is the 2nd best thing besides Flames hockey... for now, I guess.
