Canadians on Wichita State for those who don't know. Chadrick Luffile and Nick Wiggins.

Nice to see some games coming down to the last minutes after a day full of routs.

Awesome. I'm in 1st place in points, and 2nd last in possible points.

What a game! Olynyk is a bit of a whiner.

Great win by the Shockers. They have a legitimate shot at the Final Four, IMO.
This game very well might have cost me a $700+ pool win but I do not care!

Wichita State should be at least Elite Eight bound, and if they can shoot it from deep like last night I definitely like them to get to the Final Four. I also think Kansas will be joining Gonzaga in being eliminated early.

I wonder how much of Gonzaga's post season problems are due to playing in a conference that provides few challenges for the couple months leading up to the tournament. Surely they must have offers to join at least something like the MWC or the new big east. It can't really be that much fun playing in the WCC any longer.

Strategy question!
Here's a discussion I've been having elsewhere. When you're tied and the other team has the ball for the last possession (ie 25 seconds left on the clock), I think there are some situations where fouling (or at the very least pressing and accepting the foul as a possible result) is the right call. You may give up the lead but you get the ball last in exchange for that.I read once that an article saying that that's a common strategy in international ball. Why not do it? I think it's the percentage play against any offense that is remotely efficient.
What says you?

I think there's definitely a place for it, especially if you are not in the double bonus, and if you have the opportunity to foul a player who's not a good free-throw shooter. Other factors may be whether you think you stand a chance in OT (for example, maybe a couple of your starters have already fouled out), or whether you've got a couple three-point shooters who are really hot and you'd happily put the game in their hands.
On the other hand, in a defensive struggle where nobody can buy a basket, it would seem to be poor strategy. In the NCAA where shooting percentages definitely trend toward less than 50% (especially in the last few minutes of a game), you could argue that the odds are against that strategy.

Incredible rally by Michigan to force OT. Can they pull off the stunning comeback?

Why pass up the easy two for a difficult three? Bad decision by Kansas.

Unbelievable 22-8 finish for the comeback by Michigan against Kansas. The Trey Burke 30ft knockdown 3 to for the tie with 4 seconds left blew my mind. Burke just took over in OT. McGary was fantastic vs the Kansas 7ft C.

Syracuse is playing some nasty defense in the tournament. Their 4 NCAA opponents have shot 20%, 39%, 33% & 23%.

Syracuse is flat out humiliating teams right now. They have all the perfect pieces for that zone to be a terror.

One more stat about the Syracuse defense in the tournament, opponents are shooting 15.2% from three against them in the NCAA tournament.
