Sorry, no room for CD's anymore...
If this collection of DVD's (plus a shinguardload more concerts that I don't have shown here) isn't "cool" enough, I don't know what is....

Ben Harper,... I am away out of the loop. Was he on PBS a week ago?
That guy was super!
|
Yup, he had a special on PBS a while back.
I've always wondered why he isn't superstar popular in the states, he has the whole package. [/b][/quote]
He's definately a creative and talented fellow.. Perhaps not niche enough for the US..
OH! If anyone has PJ Harvey in their collection.. that is quite possibly the coolest you can be. She's as underground as you can get..

Lou Reed's "New York" is an album that I think means you have some taste. Or at least some of my taste.

Agreed, Bob was pretty good last night Peter. My only beef was that he butchered Lay Lady Lay with his 'upsinging'.
Bob Dylan is all business, no intro to the crowd, no breaks between songs, no talking, just 2 hours of music.
Now when is Neil Young going to start touring again?

Agreed, but Highway 61 Revisited and A Hard Rains Gonna Fall were both incredible.

If I am drinking, I see three of each, but in reality, there are only one of each in that photo.
And in staying with the thread (but with the DVD twist) the following should be in your collection:
The Eagles - Hell Freezes Over
Def Leopard - Historia
Fleetwood Mac - The Dance
AC/DC = No Bull

An amazing band that would have done a lot more if the vocalist hadnt died. I have this cd in my collection along with temple of the dog which was dedicated to the singer andrew wood. And so began the seatle grunge days.

Yes Loosh, Temple of the Dog is outstanding as well. You can really hear the foundations of Pearl Jam in the Mother Love Bone stuff as Ament and Gossard plow along. Great stuff.
The whole concept of having Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder duet most of the TOD songs was just genius. They really complemented each other well IMO.
If you ever want to check out another Seattle-grunge-morph band pick up the Mad Season CD, 'Above'.
The band is made up of Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin. The vocals, and as I understand....all the lyrics are Layne Staley's. It's one of my favorite CD's. I'll admit, though, I'm a huge Alice In Chains fan so I wasn't hard to win over.

I also own the mad season cd, great set of melodies that are great for them restless nights. Layne is actually my favorite vocalist of all time, no one can imitate that sound of desperation, isolation, and sheer maddness...traits that he picked up while being a junky
